Course in better shape the Del Monte
We got an excellent hot deal value on Golf Now. We had played this course on several occasions during our month-long trips to Pebble Beach every year. The course is beautiful and very challenging. Long par 4's and a couple of very difficult par 3's and one monster par 5. Course is in great shape and we enjoy both East and West courses. Would highly recommend it.
Long course, great value
We played both courses in a day. Cool weather for the first of September. We had an early tee time and had the course to ourselves. We re-rounded playing 36 holes in a little over 6 hours. The starter gave us good local restaurant recommendations. Some of the holes could be marked a little clearer, but we weren't following anyone. Lots of long fairways and challenging par 3's. Great value for the area.
Fun Day
My wife and I play for the fun of it. And fun we had! Almost shot my age. Interesting holes, greens were in super condition, staff was super. Will return again when in the area.
rancho west
Hit it straight or trouble trees left and right, many river crossings
Great day!
The course was in excellent condition, but pro shop staff was not at all organized. They had a small ladies tourney getting started when we checked in, so they didn't give us good directions like where to obtain our electric cart or range balls nor where the starters shack was. But when we got that figured out, it turned out to be a great day with the course in great shape from tee to greens. I will return despite pro shop staff not having it together.
Great day on the Golf Course
Course was in great condition. The weather was perfect for my wife and I. The course provides a good challenge for the average golfer and we had a great day. We are looking forward to going back and trying the East Course
Nice course in Carmel Valley, CA
Compared to the other courses on the Monterey Peninsula, I'd rate this about a 5.5. (1-10). We teed off at 1:00PM so we had a bit of the onshore wind to deal with on the front 9. There are a number of holes with narrow openings off the tee box that keeps things interesting. Overall.. an okay course. Consider a morning tee time as it does get winding (and foggy) on some afternoons.
RC for the first time
Great golf course , but a few times the cart paths and tee boxes were not marked so we did not k ow where to go.
Dennis, a marshal was very friendly and nice as we're all the other golf course personnel.
We will be back.

Sunday golf
Booked a 9:30 tee time. Not many people playing so the round went fast. Course was in good shape, except for a few sand traps that had some rocks and dirt mixed in. Had a great time.
Beautiful but windy
Course was in great condition, even given the drought we are in. The greens were top notch and not too fast. Not much break in any of the greens, so they were player friendly. Lots of reasonable forced carries over the creeks, so break out your hybrids for this one. A little course knowledge goes a long way here, and if you have that, this is a moderately but playable challenge course.
A good challenge.
The front nine is easier than the back. Lots of doglegs and narrow driving lines. The rough is quite high and easy to lose a ball if you are not on the tree-lined fairway.
Hit it
This west course is challenging. You must keep an eye on the ball. easy to loose balls.
narrow fairways, slow greens - overpriced bananas
this is a moderate length track, but has some really narrow tunnels that you must hit through. holes 12 & 13 are very tough if you don't hit it straight, you'll be checking your balls for tree marks. Greens were much slower than the practice green, inconsistent pace on the greens, some really slow and just when you think you have it, you run into one that goes 10 feet by, hard to judge properly. Polish dog was just ok - dog was tasty, but the stale bun needs some help, would be better steamed and the guy behind the counter wasn't empowered to allow me to sub out a banana for chips. over-ripe bananas for $2.25 - really?? I'll bring my own lunch next time.
Branch Manager
Played he West at Rancho. The front nine went well and the course played fair. I felt that the back nine was very tight. Over the years the trees have become huge and there are at least 5 holes that I would call very tight. Almost unfair.
Playing around in heaven
As usual playing ion Carmel was wonderful. When the heat in San Jose was in the mid 90s the weather at Rancho didn't exceed 72. The course was in great shape other than the rough. A good mowing is in order not so much to help play but to find wayward balls. Green were marvelous.
Fun with Bro
Friendly, fast pace of play, well maintained course
and facilities, good food
Tuesday golf
Good course at a very good price. The pace of play was excellent and it is a course that will challenge you.
Great value
I played the west course on 7/20 and the east course on 7/21. Both courses were well worth the money. I even played the east in the rain and had a blast. East course is more open than the west so if you tend to spray the ball off the tee "go east". I hit 4i off the tee all day on the west course. I'm a 8 hdcp from the Desert area.
