New and improved
Was very pleased with the overall condition of what has been a not well maintained course in the recent past. Very playable and the greens rolled well. Not super fast, but true. Bunkers are the next area that need improvement although I was only in one and can't speak for the rest. Seemed like the sand was very thin and firm.
Lots of Narrow Fairways
We enjoyed our day at Adobe Creek. The pace of play was very good. The course was in good shape. The greens have plenty of subtle breaks. There are plenty of narrow fairways with either water or out of bounds to give one pause.
There are a grass tee driving range, bunker, and two good practice greens.
The Hot Deal on GolfNow really made this a good deal.
The club house is closed and for lease so were no such amenities available.
victim of drought
I have always liked the layout of Adobe Creek but this was the dryest and hardest (rock hard fairways) I have ever seen it. I'm sure they're a victim of the lack of rain in this area. The greens were fine. Overall had a fun day
Getting There
Compared to my last outing here several months ago the track has improved tremendously. The greens rolled very well and the fairways were in good shape. I did notice that some of the bunkers could use more sand although my three bunker shots were all out of well maintained bunkers.
Refridgerated Sandwiches,
went late Jan, fairways were solid and greens were firm and fast, add in some wind made for a fun day, may want to bring wind breaker pants and jacket.
Adobe Creek
Normally a decent course as is. With a bit more attention it would be a good course. With a full pro shop, an open club house and bar it would be a great course.
Nice course near Marin
This is a good course that's within 30 mins. of Marin County. The course was very wet due to the heavy rains the past two weeks. When then course dries out, it's a wonderful course. Would recommend it to anyone.
rolling very nicely could cut back on some watering lots of mud around
It was a great day the green for Rollling very nicely well-maintained
has potential
The course under new management and they're trying to figure out the irrigation. Roughs were high and lost several balls in the rough. Fairways are in rough shape but the greens are in decent shape. Golf course layout is great and has great potential but they need to figure out what to do with the irrigation system. Hope the new management gets this figured out because of course does seem to have a great layout. Enjoyed the day lots of wildlife.
Fun course , good price
Pretty relaxed atmosphere. We played an afternoon round during the week and it was very Uncrowded . Course is in good shape. Was a nice and relaxing time. The course is all in front of you , no blind or weird shots (except hole 7).
There are other "nicer" (read: more $) courses in the area, but this one is right down the street from my buddies house. Good times! Greens are in good shApe.
Rough Shape
Adobe Creek is in very rough shape. I have been playing this course since it opened and have never seen it this bad. Some fairways seem to have more area roped off as ground under repair than open areas. Another issue is that areas that aren't burned out are soaking wet. The number of hoses and sprinklers that are placed around the course would seem to indicate that they have some major problems with their irrigation system.
On the up side, we teed off at Noon on a Saturday, and although we waited on the foursome in front of us a few holes (they let us go through at the turn) we finished in 3 1/2 hours. Also, the greens are in decent shape - a little slow and the rough edges of the holes would indicate that the hole locations aren't moved often enough.
I doubt we will be returning before next Spring.
Sadly, even though we booke our time with a Golf Now "Hot Deal" prepaid time, in my opinion it wasn't worth the green fee in its current condition.
Chernobyl is better
32 bucks on golfnow...Should have paid me!..every hole was like plAying in someone s farm land. Muddy.....septic smell
.perfect course for a third world country.
Had to take a deuce after the front nine
.toilet was locked. Barely made it home...nice range balls tho
need water
i know we need rain but the fairways are in bad shape.foxtail south is in better shape and cheaper. green are in great shape just very slow.
Course in bad shape
For locals, this course is in worse shape currently than Foxtail South (which is always rough). Not sure why--they'd done a good job of rehabbing it over the last year. But it's really in bad shape now, and at these prices it's poor value (Foxtail South is something like 50% cheaper, and both really are bad deals still).
What a shame !!!!
The course was in a poor condition. It was heavily watered but in the wrong places. The greens had been recently aerated and sanded and were very poor.
We rented clubs and were given incomplete sets and also the clubs were dirty.
There was no food available at the conclusion of our round
I would not recommend this course until they get their act together
Good course design
I have wanted to play this course for a long time and I finally got to play it this August (2014). I liked the course design. The mounds the course designer put in the course creates a links like effect. Too bad they did not expand on this concept and create a real links like course. 2014 is a severe drought year for California. But lack of water is not the problem here. The problem is where the water is applied. They have created a park like effect by watering everywhere instead of concentrating on the landing areas. The greens were disappointing. Most greens had some damage and few rolled true. On the day I played hole 7 was cart path only but really it should have been totally closed or they should have put a temporary tee box in the fairway while the fairway is redone. The course did close down during the great recession. New management is now in place. The old grand clubhouse is closed and owners are trying to rent it out. The new clubhouse is very small. No real food so bring your own.
This course challenges your game
I had a great time playing this course. It offers a lot of tricky pin placements. It's best to keep it in the fairway in order to achieve a low number.
Robert Trent Jones Jr!!
The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were mostly green with some dry areas at the high points of said fairway.
They need a food cart or something at the turn.
A great day of golf!
A very fun course to play with some fun challenges. Our only negative input: The water in the ball washers was very stinky!!! Perhaps a "shot" of bleach might help...
Play this course soon.
This course is exactly what you want if you are looking for a casual foursome with some fun challenging holes. With a nice variety of long and wide and short and narrow. Every golfer will find a shot or two that challenges his skill.
