Omni Amelia Island Resort - Oak Marsh
About
Oak Marsh is a Pete Dye-designed golf course that is one of three 18-hole courses at Omni Amelia Island Resort. The Oak Marsh course meanders alongside the Atlantic Ocean, providing sweeping views and an ever-changing sea breeze.
Appropriately named after its terrain of scenic salt marshes and moss-draped heritage oaks, the golf course has a stunning landscape that is ideal for a challenging round. Dye protected the natural beauty of the island by carefully maintaining the tidal marshes, oceanfront dunes, grassland, and savannahs. The layout features tight fairways and small, bulk-headed greens, a classic Dye element. There are a variety of bunkers strategically placed throughout and water comes into play on fourteen holes.

Needs TLC
The greens were splotchy and generally slow. The layout was interesting but some very short holes. I was expecting a far better quality course for the $150 greens fee. Staff was excellent but the course conditions were really disappointing. I
Great course and staff
Had a great time, starter let us go a few minutes early, very helpful and happy staffers. It can get pricey, and found out it will be shut down soon for renovations to entire course. A must play if in the area. Was hoping to get my northern buddies down here in next month or two and play this track. Hope they keep it affordable to public.
Nice, but showing its age
This is a nice course with 4 or 5 holes right on the marsh with long views out across the wetlands. It is a classic low country course: tight from tee to green with small greens. You don't need to be long, but you must be straight. If you struggled with the driver like I did, it will be a long day.
Also, the bermuda grass on the greens seems like an older strain that's very coarse. There are better strains that roll smoother and are less grainy. For the price ($100 on GolfNow), I expected better.
I liked Amelia River and The Golf Club of Amelia Island better.
Excellent course
A lot of fun! Challenging course, amazing views. Play the golds at 16 regardless of skill level!! It’s incredible!
Hot day of golf!
Course overall good shape. Lots of placement shots, bring some extra sleeve of balls.
Would play again.
First time
Over all course in good shape, fun to play. Little tight fairways on some hole so you need to be accurate, tee to greens good shape.
Great Course
Course was in great shape. They could have made a few more holes cart path only as some inconsiderate golfers felt the need to rut up the course.
Great course
Awesome staff, course was in great shape. I play here everytime we vacation on the Island. Good practice facilities.
The course is challenging, fun and scenic. It will require less drivers off the tee, at least for me. There can be trouble with lots of places to go OB or lose a ball. But a more skilled golfer will love the challenge of working the driver and taking advantage of distance gained. Greens are smaller and challenging but are very receptive to approach shots. They are Bermuda greens and will require some pace to the hole but that is Bermuda greens
I highly recommend this course. Overall great experience. .
Enjoyed our round at Oak Marsh
First of all, the Omni property is beautiful! The course was easy to find, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We checked in, hit some putts and range balls, then went to see the starter. He put us out a little early because the twosome that was supposed to be there hadn't checked in yet. Fortunately, we played with a fun father/son duo who had played the course a few times previously. The course is sufficiently challenging, and somewhat narrow, so be warned. We found 17 and 18 to be especially challenging, and next time we will have a different strategy for those holes. It was a very hot day, Florida in July, go figure, but one of the staff showed up when we were on the tee at 12 and offered us chilled wet towels. Ah, saved the day. We did order hotdogs and a bag of chips from the cart attendant, $36! Tasty hotdogs but very expensive. I guess it's a resort! Looking forward to playing here again.
