Enjoyable holiday course
I enjoyed playing the course, but had difficulty reading the greens. Attractive holes meandering through the huge property and a couple on the ocean. Luckily, not too much wind!
Good quick round
Overall good course for the price, short. Not worth bringing your driver out of the bag for much of the course very narrow. A few beautiful ocean side holes!
Nice course with Great Scenery
This course is a bit shorter on paper but makes up for it with very tight fairways and small greens. However you get views of the Atlantic ocean that are rarely available on a course for under $100. Play this for the views but bring your accurate game for the course or you will lose several golf balls and strokes.
Greens require work
Greens on par 3 oceanfront sloped too severely and patently unfair
Very picturesque with some beautiful beach views!
The course was difficult to find, but is in the Omni resort entrance. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The course itself was interesting - fairly short with lots of houses and hazards and long drives between some holes (you can't walk before 3:00 anyway, but it really is unwalkable anyway). The holes on the beach are stunning - worth playing this course at least once just to see those! We drove 1 hour to this course and wouldn't drive that far to play it again, but if I were in the local area I'd play it again.
Disappointed
We played 18 holes in 3 hrs 25 minutes. Starter (John) approached us at the 4th tee telling us we were 2 holes behind and we were holding a group up behind us. The group ahead had just walked off the green, so have no idea what this starter was talking about. Group behind us was a hole and a half behind. We think he didn't like our riders (wives) taking photos. Uncalled for and rude.
A little rough.
Without a tour guide, it s very difficult to locate where the next tee/hole is...
Winter play
The course was great. We were the first group off on Saturday. The lye's were a little tight but that to be expected in winter. Greens were medium fast and true.
An excellent experience
Played on a perfect Floridian day, with a tee time mid morning. Course was in excellent shape and starter gave a comprehensive brief, with particular emphasis on which set of tees to play.We had mixed handicaps between single figures and 20 and enjoyed the round off the blue tees. Gold would not have been a big problem with length, but would have made the tough holes a little bit of a lottery with hazards and water blocking all but the straightest of hits. If you play proper out of bounds rules, you will need to hit a lot of provisional balls from the tee as you are often uncertain which side of the fence / markers you have landed. We found the cart paths very navigable - keep an eye out for the signs and it was straightforward. Post round, we enjoyed a beer and a meal at the clubhouse, which was excellent and timely. I found this a very positive experience and will be back.
Hard to find an ocean course for this price
Got a $30 afternoon rate on Golfnow. The ocean holes were worth the time spent in the maze trying to get to each hole. Do not walk this course! You will spend more time walking between holes than actually playing the round. It's a bit tight, but a fair challenge from the tips. Greens were in very good condition for winter and rolled fast.
Course was as advertised. Short but very tough. Many holes with narrow course with OB on one side and houses on other. Guy in the clubhouse and starter were great. Played by myself early in the morning. Nobody in front of me and played in about 2.5 hours. Holes on the ocean were great with awesome view. My only complaint is there were several holes with local guest/residents out for their morning walk on the cart path paying no attention to golfers.
Great ocean views
Layout is a little funky but worth it for the 5 holes where you are right on the dunes with the Atlantic beyond. Greens are smooth and fast. Short course but narrow so challenge is there
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT THIS COURSE. IT'S REALLY THAT GOOD AND MUCH FUN. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT HAVING YOUR BEST SCORE, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AT OCEAN LINKS. THE GREENS ARE FAST WITH MULTIPLE CHALLENGES AND THE FAIRWAYS ARE FULL OF PICTURESQUE EYE CANDY TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED. THE COURSE PLAYS LONG AT 6,000 YDS. SO DON'T LEAVE YOUR 3 WOOD AT HOME, YOU WILL NEED IT.
OVERALL THIS IS THE NICEST COURSE I HAVE EVER PLAYED. IT IS SET UP TO BE A LINKS STYLE COURSE WITH SPECIAL MOMENTS ON THE CART PATH BETWEEN HOLES. THERE ARE 5 FAIRWAYS OCEANSIDE WHICH ARE INTERMIXED WITHIN THE EXCLUSIVE BEACH SIDE LIFESTYLE.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRY THE OCEAN LINKS FOR YOUR NEXT SPECIAL ROUND OF GOLF. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED
Ehhhh...
It's a nice course. The views to the ocean are amazing. But it just doesn't feel like you are playing a real course. Play it once for the view and then play oak marsh from then on.
Great Course
The course is in great shape and ocean views are incredible. Challenging course due to the fact that the greens are small and were running exceptionally fast the day we played, particularly those along the ocean where you could literally putt your ball and have it roll off the green if you're not careful. Incredible value for the money and experience.
