Palmetto Golf Course
About
Palmetto Golf Course gets its name from the beautiful palmetto trees that line the fairways and meandering waterways. Although they add to the scenery, the trees double as a challenging element of the course since they can also affect shots. The golf course was designed by Dick Wilson, who has designed many other courses in the area. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes of the course, including the notable signature hole, which a 435-yard par-4. There are also sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. The Palmetto Golf Course facility boasts lighted practice facilities, including a practice putting green and driving range.

Good course, but not great!
Although the back 9 was just opened up from having it redone, I still feel like the fairways are a bit patchy and some mucky. Greens are in great conditions along with the fringes, tee boxes were also in great condition
Rain, Rain, Go Away
We have attempted to play this course 2 times within the last year. The clubhouse staff was very nice. The check-in process and clubhouse are clean and have a nice setup.
Both times we have played the course it has rained flooding the course. This is a Municipal Course so conditions of fairways, rough, traps, etc are in much need of improvement. The back 9 is still under construction until August 23 (we were told).
There is a nice driving range, go-carts, and mini putt course there also. We did not use any of these amenities.
Will chose to play other courses in the area.
Palmetto Golf
Excellent attention and friendliness from course staff. Very fun course! Lots of people having fun golfing. Course is nice, some water hazards to keep things interesting. Greens were in good condition. Third time playing here. Very nice experience!!
Bad information
I was never told the back one was closed, the Ranger was practicing golf instead of looking at people that don’t know how to play nor les better player go. Horrible
Dont use golf now to book your tee time !! Call the course..
If you call the course and book a tee time there its only $20 and the back 9 is under construction til June..
Would have been nice to have been told this on the Golf Now App, instead of being charged $50 and only being able to play the front 9…
Check First
When booking we were not informed the front 9 was closed for rennos. We arrived for our tee time and informed we would be playing the back 9 twice which was fine but we were told we wound have to wait until there was a break from groups making the turn. That was a full hour. Pace of play was then very slow. We have up after 9 as we had already been there for over 3.5 hours.
The fairways and greens were in good shape for the 9 that was open, bunkers were decent. The tee blocks need work but not a big deal.
The staff are friendly so that helped.
Overall, I would recommend making sure the full 18 are open before booking. I’m sure normally it’s a much better experience.
I’d give them a second chance in the future.
Bunker Hill
The course was fun but quite challenging with bunkers crowded around several greens. never hit so many bunkers in all my time at playing golf and produced a high scoring game. Additionally the front 9 was closed so we had to replay the back nine.
Great golf course to try
My sister and I played 9 holes and enjoyed very much except for a moment when it was confusing to spot the right green due to the fact they were close to each other. It just takes knowledge of the layout
Busy
The course is nice but in the very good conditions.
Too busy because only 9 holes (we didn’t know)
But it will nice next July when all 188 will be open!
Missing 9 holes
Front 9 is close due reconditioning…. Next will close back 9… those looking to play 18 holes be aware you will be playing the same 9 holes two times, and because of the price the course is crowded… 18 holes play in 5.5 hours
Over priced
Course is in great shape. It definitely is overpriced. It’sa county Course and residents should get a much better deal than the patron card.
9 hole course!
Failed to mention $70 for 2 for 9 holes; even though 74.90 (4.90 tax) on Golf Now confirmation. 20 + minute wait at the turn/start. no thanks, got a refund!
Need to inform people about course closure on app
Not sure if this is GN’s fault or the course but only the back 9 is open and there are enough tee times as if it’s an 18 hole course took us 5.5 hrs to play a round while people were on our tail and we were on others.
