I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Great Course, currently not in Peak Condition
Last year I played the new course in early August. This year I was in Orlando in late August and wanted to give the other courses a try as I've always heard great things about these courses and enjoyed my experience at Grand Cypress last year.
I have little doubt this course is typically worthy of 5 stars all around, but for this particular outing on this particular day, I had to dock a couple of points for the following reason...
We teed off a little after 9AM. Apparently there was a scramble in front of us. At some point it really slowed us down, but eventually they finished and we had an open road from about holes 14 and in.
The other issue was the greens had obviously been recently punched (I'd say about 3 weeks ago or so) and were still not completely healed. They weren't too bad, but still, not in peak shape despite being told the course was in "great condition".
I still very much enjoyed the round, I just know this course is capable of an even better experience.
Challenging and Interesting
Played my second round in this course and was more impressed than when I played my first time. Despite the heat, the fairways and greens were in pristine conditions. This course is challenging, with water in play in most of its holes, elevated and undulated greens that requires you to hit good shots or you will find yourself three putting. Very enjoyable but will put your game to the test.
Fair course with wide landing areas
This course was challenging but not ridiculous. Wide landing areas. Greens in pretty good shape. The course and club was busy and check in was slow. Pace was slow but not as bad as I expected given how packed the place was.
North/South great course in Orlando
The North Course was fantastic. very playable, fun, yet challenging. The South Course was a little bit harder especially #6 a true 3 shot par 5. #6 is stupidly hard, but i didn't nix anything on that for the rating. I highly recommend playing here.
A note to Grand Cypress. The South Course was 100% in an aeration period and there was no mention of that at booking or during check in. I would appreciate you be upfront and honest with people so they don't get disappointed on the first hole.
First class course
First time playing here and I was blown away the course was in pristine condition from the moment you get there, till you finish was a great experience the course was challenging also, will definitely be back.
Best layout in FL
Excellent course with plenty of options. Some power holes and some precision shots. Great Mix.
One of the finest places to play in Orlando
We have played several course over the years in Orlando, but Grand Cypress keep reeling us in. It's one of the best we have played. It was funny that several courses we played during week that most of these courses workers at the different courses we played, would played at Grand Cypress on a particular day of the week, every week! That tells you something when people from other courses go and play there.
Great golf course
Course was in great condition. Very friendly layout and not many tricky holes. Played with a couple members (Don and Phil) who were helpful and welcoming. Pro shop is well stocked and facilities were top notch.
Great features
Coming from Jacksonville, this has been one of the best course I've played. From the fairways being well maintained to the first cut to the greens. Maintenance crew and all employees were over generous throughout. We ended up playing all 27 holes of North South East. Highly recommended.
Another great golfing day
After got rained out the last few days at nearby courses I decided to booked an early tee time and played at North/South course to beat the afternoon storm and was able to complete 18 holes. Course was in great shape and pace of play was average. Had fun with our group we even chased off a couple of snakes thinking our ball were bird’s egg (no gators seen). Plan to book early tee times on GolfNow the next few days before heading back up North.
Great Course Little Pricey
Golfed here plenty of times as always one of the best courses in Orlando. $65 round still a little pricey for July in Florida but had a friend that really wanted to play so I obliged. Course was in good shape. Very, very wet with all the rain Orlando has been getting. Pace of play was 4 hours and 11 min for a 7:57am tee time which is very good. Overall great and will be back at some point I’m sure.
Great course
We played the north and east courses and had a great time. Each hole had difficulties to overcome. We played the blended ties blue and white then switch to all blues to keep the course challenging. The greens were in great condition but faster than other area courses. Finally the cart girls were on every other hole which help since it was almost 90 degrees.
Great
From A to Z the entire experience was top notch. 5 stars all around. I arrived early and had lunch at the bar. Best Greek salad I’ve ever had. Staff was friendly and accommodating at every turn. Clubhouse amenities were great. I was issued a complimentary locker for my belonging and used the shower for a post round cool off and refresher. Fairways and greens were immaculate. Played the blended tees since it was my first time and the layout was sufficiently challenging without being onerous. Lots of fun. Great overall experience. You can’t beat it at the price I got on golfnow. I highly recommend you check this course out.
Grand Cypress in the Summer!
You have to dodge the summer rains and battle the heat but to play this course for $30 it is a steal. Real test and some beautiful holes. 4 great par 5's.
Best ever!!!
I have played in over a hundred golf courses in 8 different countries. The service experience at Grand Cypress was far the best service I have ever received anywhere including private courses.
From check in to check out, Robert, Thomas, Reda, Karen, George, and many others were exceptional to make me and my cousins feel welcome and helping us with anything we need.
First, I have never met a cart attendance who offered to go buy cigarettes outside the course as they thought they were sold out. Seen a few expensive private ones with caddies in Asia have offered such gesture but not at a public course.
Then after playing 2 rounds, I wanted purchase a Grand Cypress hat as a gift for my cousin who had shot the life time best score in the new course, but the shop was closed as we lost track of time washing up and relaxing in the club house. However, they opened the closed shop for me to buy the hat for my cousin who was flying out that day back to Asia.
Thank you Grand Cypress!!
Fantastic
What a great course. We played (myself & my son) the North/South and we loved it, greens great pace, I’d say about 9 and true. Layout was great with some really cool water holes. The East is supposed to be the best with many signature holes from Scotland in particular the Road hole at St. Andrews ( The home of Golf) we will defiantly be back. The staff were super friendly too and really helpful.
What a cracking place to play golf
We played the South followed by the North course as the East course was closed.
Front 9 one of the toughest 9 I have played due to the quirky greens but cracking golf holes visually and layout wise.
The back 9 the North was more forgiving but still had brilliant golf holes that required good golf tee to green.
The ground staff must love looking after the course as it was in brilliant condition.
Good selection of tee colours, making for challenges to be had for all levels of golfer.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful
Would highly recommend
