I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Great course but
Need to let people know some of course getting winterized. Otherwise fabulous.
Grand Cypress
Always looked to Play Grand Cypress as one of the better courses in Orlando. Excellent clubhouse. Smooth check in and cart collection. Course was in great condition. Greens were quite undulating with some challenging pin positions. Enjoyed the round only negative was that carts did not have GPS for some reason and fairways had limited yardage markers which made judging distance tricky on some holes.
East & North
Played the North and East nines, and found both to be in really great shape. The East probably has the nicer looking holes, but you're really not going to hate the North. All 18 holes are well manicured with great tees, fairways and greens.
You'll pay a little extra to play here, but you'll see where the money goes when you experience the course, clubhouse, practice facilities and staff.
Great Challenge
Great experience. Played South-East. Staff is at your service from the bag drop on. Facilities are top shelf. The course is in very good condition. Good landing areas with very challenging approaches. Fairways and rough are cut to nice length. Rough is deep but playable. Sand like sugar. Greens are fast and undulating but pin placements are fair. I will come back and play the other courses.
Good Layout Course not upto five star level
I am not sure if I should compare this to some of the TPC courses in Florida or even the LPGA course near Daytona. However, since the price is in the same ballpark I was quite disappointed with the course conditions. Even the International course at Champions Gate is better. Plus the lack of GPS was surprising. I would not play this again. The other Nicklaus design near Fort Myers - Old corkscrew- is much better.
Always a Course We Look Forward to Playing
We love coming here! Course conditions and greens are almost always in very good condition. Found the sand below their usual standards.
Perfect Golf Experience
This was my first time play this course and it was truly memorable. It was like playing at a country club. The greens were rated at "12" and the number of putts I took reflect that level of difficulty. On of my favorite golf experiences. Hope to play it again when I return to Florida.
Very Enjoyable Layout
This is the first time that I have played at this resort. I played the North & South nines. The course was in excellent condition with many water hazards that were avoidable if you were on your game. The greens were much faster than I was used to but they were consistent and in good shape. I would highly recommend this course.
Most greens have false fronts!
We enjoyed our day here. The course was in good condition and the greens ram well. The course layout is good without being a wow. The island green 5th was interesting with a strong right to left wind
Golf Vacation
If you want to play a high end course that is fair to the average golfer then look no further. Green are super fast with many contours. The clubhouse is high end and the entire staff are great to deal with.
Great course in every combination…
Actually we’ve booked the New Course, but as it was a bit packed and we could change to South / East. I’ve played North / South twice before (see my review from Oct 2) and was looking forward in what condition the East 9 is. Well, though in very good shape, this nine is just a little bit else. East is some places challenging, but actually to me from the layout maybe the less interesting – but that’s just personal. Both nines combined are very nice and to me all combinations of N/S/E represent one of the best places you can go in Orlando. East is maybe a little bit more wet now than South and North, but it is well playable, except the entry to 1 or 2 greens. Tee boxes are very good, bunkers too. Greens are fast and true. Pace was very good (about 3 ¾ h). Staff is helpful and cordial – Clubhouse has very good restaurant, it is worth to stop there for dinner after the round.
Overall – one of the top places you can play in Orlando. And Golfnow offers excellent hot deals in very early afternoon (around 1pm) – it is a bargain if you catch it!
Good but very busy course
Overall, this is definitely a course I would play again. The course is challenging (blue tees) but not overwhelming. It is well maintained but there is a lot of repair that is happening right now. The green are probably my least favorite part. They were in good condition, but each one was running at different speeds. Seemed that some were mowed yesterday and others a week ago.
The staff was overall nice, especially the very pleasant started on the east course. Since I had to wait to tee off, we had a nice chat. I found out he was 89 years old, from WV and full of amazing life stories.
When I got there the club house was full of golfers and one cashier. I guess that happens, but a "sorry for your wait" remark would have been nice rather than "next".
There were a lot of golfers on the course and the pace of play was slow at time. Despite that we still finished in 4 hours.
Would definitelly play again.
Marks golf trip
Haven't play this course in a long time but sure did realize I was missing out playing this great layout on the east side .
Good place to play while visiting Orlando.
Country club conditions. Good course for players of average and above average abilities. Course has holes with unique features requiring the golfer to make decisions. The condition of the course was very good as were the facilities.
First time - challenging
First time playing this course, North and South - it's always challenging playing for first time not knowing a course; speed of greens etc.
Beautiful course, highly recommend it.
Only improvement would be new golf carts with more comfortable seats; small coolers on the carts; offering water cups that have lids; put tees on carts.
No towels were available when we got there; like to have towels to clean off clubs as well as another towel to wipe sweat off face.
Wow
I loved everything about this course. The conditions were perfect. The greens were true. The course offers lots of challenges but is fair. I was a solo and was paired up with a 3some. They talked me into the blue tees. I was gonna play the blended blue/white but I enjoyed the round every bit as much. The front 9 played in 1:40. The back 9 played in 2:30 due to the 27 holes and the tee time format. Don't miss out - play this course.
Beautiful course
I saw a comment about the aeration of the greens. They were perfectly sanded and did not slow the ball down or knock it off line at least.
The course is beautiful. The pace of play on day one was superb. The pace of play on day two a little slower. 4.1/2 hours.
