I got lucky with a pitching wedge and landed about 15' from the pin. The pin placement this round was tough with holes tight to the front edges. Photo submitted by knichola on 08/19/2013

Nice but tough
This is a top course, but very tough even for a single figure like me. Some of the green were too difficult, but if you like a tough challenge you will like this.
Great golf course
Grand Cypress is one of my favorite golf locations in Orlando
Confusing
Confused course when you turn 9 you don't know which course to go to next and a lot of scatter play
Excellent course to play in Orlando
Everything was perfect except no GPS in the cart. I had my own watch. It didn't matter for me.
Great course.
This is a great course to play. Only bad thing was the five some in front of us. U got to play this course when you're visiting Orlando
Great course
Challenging, beautiful
Friendly staff. South course is fantastic
Great Conditioning as always
Fantastic greens and conditions as always. Grand Cypress N/S/E is tight off the tee with very interesting green complexes. Pace of play was 4:15 which wasn't bad given that the New course was closed for the day and all play was on the N/S/E.
Outstanding as Usual
The staff are always friendly and the greens were the best in Florida! You can always count on this course.
First class facility
Everything about the Grand Cypress arena was first class. Course was laid out well, greens in great shape, cart guys/girls were friendly and on top of their game.
I recommend any of the courses here at any time.
great course to play
i sure enjoy playing at grand cypress always a great experience
very worth while, full of tradition
no longer have fly over GPS on the golf cars, but Grand Cypress is still a course you must play when in the Orlando area, bring your hand held GPS.
Gran Cypress E-N, november 19th
Beautyfull course well maintained. Excellent condition. This is our third experience at this place and for the 3rd time, we felt the reception at the course left to be desired... Same feeling upon starting. Overpriced for what it offers, but a sure bet if you like a beautifull course and do not mind unsmiling attendants.
Scenic course
Speechless, the east course has many breathtaking views, fast flawless greens. Second time playing here, many more to come
System Says I Booked NSE But...
I booked the tee time for NSE (or whatever) when I checked in they said "No, you booked the New Course" I happen to have my cell phone with the reservation - did not seem to matter. New Course although in excellent shape and to some degree fun was PACKED - 5 hour round is just stupid. Thanks guys for making it a really sucky day.
Must Play When in Orlando
The prettiest 18 holes I have ever played. Course was in great condition. Greens were well manicured. Finished round in four hours. Pro shop had a nice selection of merchandise. Very busy place, so allow yourself some time to prepare. We're heading back to play the other combinations.
Bring Your A Game
Played the East/ North setup. You don't get a choice, when booking via GolfNow, so phone the Pro shop if you need to know before hand. The east course is tight with water & trees, the north course is similar - without the trees, however the greens where lightening fast on the north course. The wind was blowing as well, great challenge.
Choose your tees wisely, the wind was blowing when I played making it even more of a challenge.
Mixed quality and impressions of South nine and East nine….
Actually I love this course and the first nine (South) were exactly what I expected. Very well maintained, nice tee boxes, very good fairways and bunkers and fast greens. The pace was decent – like 2 hours. The second nine were just opposite… Several greens have spots with little grass, fairways and tee boxes are not always well maintained. And a horrible pace! We run into 3 or 4 foursome of a group of either less experienced golfers who played tees too long for their skill and it took them awfully long to reach the green and finish each hole. For instance on the Par 3 (5th hole on East) they teed off the second longest tees and all played into water. They proceed to the next tees and hit the next balls (all into water again) from there… After waiting there for a very long time, we than better refused to play this hole and went to the next. But it did not help any, because on the 7th hole we had to wait very long behind the next foursome of this group. And again on the next par 3 (8th) this flight hit their balls from too long tees and needed awfully long till they found their balls and finally played them all to the green… We needed about 1 ¾ h for the last 4 holes and did not play all holes on the second nine. No player’s assistant seen and so no one said these guys to rather take some lessons instead of damaging golf round to other people! After not enjoying our golf round very much we had an excellent dinner in the clubhouse… Staff was very cordial, pity they don’t send any ranger to the course!
Overall – a little bit disappointing compared with previous rounds in the last 17 years… No GPS on carts anymore!
Must Play
We played the East/North courses. We are average players from the north. Still getting used to the grass, not like at home. Having said that it was a beautiful course, paced well. The course still won.
Tony
Very bad experience. We had a noon T time which they pushed back to 12:20. We arrived early and asked if we might go out early. They said that is not an option when booking through GolfNow.com....even though there were open T times from 11 to 12, we couldn't fill one of those because they had to punish us for using GolfNow.com. Had we booked directly with the course, we could have played early. Not what I expected and won't do that again.
