Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Good Course, but small tourney held up play, We were not informed of this Tourney until check-in
We booked this as a "hot-rate" on Golf Now. Teeing off at 2PM puts you right about at dark to get in 18 holes. With our foursome being 5-14HCP we move along very well. The course played difficult which is great for a challenge, but the pace of play was hard to deal with at times. I get its a resort course, BUT a lot of the golf course including Grand Cypress are trying to squeeze money out of each moment of daylight, making the value non-existent. If I could have gotten out of the 75$ per player plus tax rate for this time I would have. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED UNTIL WE CHECKED-IN PLAY THERE WAS A TOURNAMENT. Knowing that I would have canceled immediately.....This course was always good about offering local rates/FL resident discounts, but now its non-existent. Grand Cypress is a good course, but for 120$/per round and up, I am not seeing any reason to return soon.
Fantastic conditions
A lot of fun, but stay out of all of those pot bunkers. Course is in excellent shape as usual and the staff were top notch.
Links-style golf in Central Florida
Really enjoy playing Grand Cypress New Course. The Grand Cypress facility has three nine hole designs that are paired differently so your can assured of a different round fairly regularly in addition to the the 18 hole New Course.
While the three nines (N, S, E) have a typical "Florida feel", the New Course feels like an Irish or Scottish links-style course. There are no large dunes or ocean views, the course looks and (more importantly) plays like a links course. The hard and fast nature of the course is what makes it unique. There are plenty of times when you have the ability play shots in the air and along the ground. There are even a couple of replica holes
I thoroughly enjoy rounds at the New Course, the tee shots are wide (which is great for me) and on the day we played, the weather was overcast and windy ... which added even more to the authenticity of the round.
Great course
Bad thing letting twosomes off on busy day when people are in line and have tee times very slow play because of this
5 Hours of Fun!
The greens were in great shape rolling fast & true. If you like links style gold you’re in for a treat. Just be sure to book with enough time to finish.
-Favorite hole is back tee #2 a par 5 requiring some accuracy off the tee with an elevated green that that’s hidden by a huge fairway mounds.
-Least favorite hole is 11 too with really little to no defense it’s also sandwiched between two holes just a little too close for the eye and comfort.
Great Course. Bad Pace of play
The New course was a very unique, challenging and fun course to play but the pace was terrible. Teed off at 1:40pm but were only able to get in about 14 holes before dark at 6pm because of about a 6 hour pace. Can’t believe course staff didn’t do anything about it. The course itself was really neat and glad we got to experience it while in town on vacation, just wish we could have played the whole thing.
Pace of Play
4 1/2 hours to play 15 holes Tee off at 1:33 didn't get whole round in. Paid for 18 holes.
On pace for almost 5.5 hour round of golf.
That's just ridiculous.
Top 3 in Orlando
Links style layout, easy off the tees but greens can be tricky. THis course is in our top 3in Orlando area.
A different experience
Not really like St Amdrews but excellent layout and very different to what you would normally play
Well worth playing
Must play in Orlando
This one of my favorite course in Orlando
The fairways are wide as you can get.
I did it lose single ball this time!
Must play
This course is a must play in the Orlando area. It is a very good representation of the old course at St Andrews.
The double greens were huge and the greens were true and quick. Lots of subtle breaks.
Be wary of the fairway pot bunkers.
We got held up by the group in front and a marshal helped us get through them.
The new course is great !!!
The course was well manicured and the staff was above board in reference to Customer Service. I really appreciate them working on Christmas, Would definitely play this course again.
Links Golf at it's Finest in Central FL
I have been fortunate enough to be able to play Grand Cypress's New Course at least once a year over the last 10 years and it is always in phenomenal shape.
Greens are quick and smooth, but very challenging as they have a lot of movement. I do not find this to be a negative but something to be aware of before playing. It is imperative to hit the ball on the green in the correct quadrant in order to score well.
None the less I always have a great time on the New Course and keep coming back. It is an experience that isn't replicated in Central Florida.
Best course in Disney area
Great Great course , reminds me of good Scottish courses
WOW - A real thinking course
I finally played Jack Nicklaus tribute to the Old Course and I was thoroughly impressed. To play a course where you are not sure the correct line on your drive makes one think, I love that. This is not an automatic here the only fairway for this hole, there are multiple angles to the hole from the fairways. And I love the double greens complexes, there is certain community on the golf course that you are never far from other players. The conditions - outstanding, the mental level of golf is always on high alert, the layout - awesome. This should be on any golfer's bucket list to play. My only regret is that everyone takes a cart, this would be even better as a walking only course. The clubhouse is excellent and a little pricey - but the food was so well prepared that I felt I received my money's worth. Great 19th hole view of the surrounding golf courses and an awesome staff at the restaurant that never let our drinks empty.
