Spanish Trail Country Club is a 27-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Founded in 1984, the club is one of the oldest in Las Vegas. The holes are divided into three nines, which can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Canyon/Lakes Course is the longest of the three combinations and it begins with the most difficult of the nines. The Canyon is a desert-style course with a final stretch of holes that will test even the best players. The seventh through ninth holes feature a bevy of hazards, ending with an elevated green surrounded by cavernous bunkers. As you could have guessed from the name, the back nine, the Lakes, has water coming into play on six holes. Due to the fast and undulating greens throughout the entire golf course, accuracy on your approaches is key.

Great course, poor logistics

First time I ever booked a tee time and was later informed it was overbooked and had to be cancelled. Had to scrambe to get a new tee time. What's up with the hidden 5 dollar charge (not factored in on golf now) for range balls. Hole layout and scenery is fabulous; would have been a 5 star in logistics problems did not occur

On the fly!

Found the course online (GolfNow) and decided to play there! Great choice! Played the Lakes and Sunrise courses. Challenging layout and you had to be spot on with the Irons. My putting was challenged - the greens were well maintained and offered a difficulty degree factor that challenged me on the short putts! Loved it! The Sunrise course was a needed change! Course played very well. Some slow play but nothing unreasonable. Staff were great

Perfect December morning

First out on the Lakes on to sunrise. 18 holes in 3 hours. Course was perfect, greens were great smooth, quick, but would hold. Wish I was a member, I'd play every day.

Excellent play

Played sunrise and lakes nines very nice turf and the greens rolled very true and fast. Was pleasantly surprised to see two drink carts on the course despite the colder temps. Very friendly.

Nice course and exceptional clubhouse

First time playing this course. There is a $5 fee to play this course on top of the golf now prices. This fee is for the cart, range balls and water. There are 3 courses here with a great layout.

A wonderful golf day

3rd week of Nov. can get to be a weather and daylight challenge. We T 'd at noon and got in the 18 before dark as pace was kept...a little confusing on start as no starter at 1st hole and we told a pair would be joining us. They never showed - suspect they took off in front of us with a couple of "sneak on's resident guests". We did play though them later... love the course... recommend adding another marshal.... be back next trip

Fun

Nice course, very challenging for the most part, lots of long par 3's from the tips. Only thing is pace of play was terrible. I was a single stuck in between 5 foursomes. I don't know WHY they did that to me, but it was VERY slow. It was a 5 1/2 hour round, longest I've ever played. Course was in great shape, greens could have been better, they were a bit dried out. All in all not bad though, I'd play again if they could figure out how to place me better.

Course in good shape. Driving range closed. Would have been nice to know in advance. Pace of play was poor. Played behind a 6-some they let on the course. Staff was ok, but certainly not overly friendly. Will not play there again.

Spanish Trail

I used to play here often but the quality of service has dropped significantly. The pace of play was a 5 hour round, two weeks in a row. No marshals. They are putting singles out between foursomes, then threesomes and their is no course management currently to enrich your golf experience? Gets frustrating and I like to play to relax and enjoy the game of golf. Once overseeing is complete here in town, I'll not be returning to Spanish Trail. Too many other good courses with a nice pace of play.

Disappointed

Booked several days ahead of time. I was looking forward to the unlimited practice balls. Arrived early to warm up. I was informed drive range closed. Only putting and light chipping area available. (No balls provided for chipping). Very disappointed I was not informed at booking the driving range was going to be closed. ( Closed for a week I learned after round.) Next I was told I would join up with a twosome. I guess they never showed. Teed off at time followed a twosome all day. They never asked to join. Waited every hole for them to finish. Overall disappointed especially for the fee.

Mixed Bag

The driving range was closed with no previous warning. They put people off in front of us on the back nine that slowed play considerably. They blocked my car in the lot with no warning that an event that required the set up of tables right up to my car doors.

The course was in pretty good shape but needed a little grooming. It might have been because it had just been over-seeded. I would like to try again to see if things improve.

Good time

I like this course although it can reach up and bite you if your game is just a little bit off. It is hard at a 136 slope but I really enjoyed the challenge.
Pace of play was good even though it was busy.
