Great challenge
This is always a good time. Very fun and challenging course. I found a couple of the fairways a little soggy but all in all it was in very nice shape
Horrible
Honestly I have played a lot of courses and gotta day this is the worst course condition in any course I have played and any time of year. It is like they left the sprinklers on for like 12 hrs straight. IT was SoAKed. I lost so many good balls cause I couldn’t find them plugged in the fairways. And possibly the worst course layout in history!
This course has a tough design very challenging
Love the course need to improve my game to beat it lol
Great Day playing golf
Great golf and a wonderful staff! The customer service was exceptional!!
If you have realistic expectations, this place delivers
Don't expect Pebble Beach's rules, benefits, pampering, course marshals, or amenities for about $40 per round.
For a relaxed day of golf where you can have some fun in the sun and catch some great views of the valley, this is a great place to do it.
Good course
Good course, changes in elevation make it unique. Too bad the state is trying to close this course to build a school.
Great Course w/ Excellent Views
One of my favorites in the Reno/Sparks area. This course can play difficult - moderate depending on the tees you play from. Usually some wind on the course, but overall the greens are in great shape and roll very nicely. Fairways and tee box are kept well too, just watch out for the randomly located marmot hole( these guys are all over the course). I usually play as a single(and get a HOT DEAL) and always get put with another group and everyone has always been friendly. This course is owned and operated by the city of Sparks -which is well maintained-, but can bring out the hackers and some five-somes slowing the speed of play.
Course is not well maintained
For those who may not know, this course has been designated as a future high school site and the course is pending closure. In the meantime it’s kept open and is “operational”. The course is minimally maintained and staffed and is barely functional for the fee they charge for regular play. It is not a $50 course and at best it would be a good deal to play here for < $20, including cart. Unless the plans change for the school site and properly maintaining the course for continuing use, don’t plan on paying > $20. Too bad as this was at one time a very good course and the online deals were very good.
Sorry to see it in the state and condition it gotten to.
Very fair course. You can see virtually every landing spot off the tee. Played with 3 friendly locals who were a lot of fun. Above average greens, below average tee boxes but you could move the ball around to find a good spot. Good value for those visiting Reno. Only 10 minutes from Grand Sierra Resort.
Challenging Public Course a Good Value
This is one of the tougher public courses I have played and was in good shape for late spring. Has some short but tight fairway holes with plenty of hazards (water, scrub bush), elevation changes, with visually daunting 9th and 18th holes. Not a pristine-condition course, but affordable. They offer a cheap $25 senior deal on Tuesdays. Play it now, since the course is slated to be developed into housing sometime soon (but after this season).
Course was fine but the wind was very strong. Maybe as high as 30 to 40 mph
Spring golf
Reasonable price for the quality of play. Fairways in good shape but don't go too far off the playing field. Desert will kill your game, adding several Strokes for errant shots.
Not many trees but fairways are easily defined by shrubs and grass against the desert floor.
Fun to play and great place for photos.
Enjoy a challenge but still nice for the weekend hacker.
Nice weather
Slow greens course banged up just wanted to play it before the city closed it
So sad.
This is a great course. It is both easy to play with enough of a challenge to keep it interesting. It is affordable for us little people.
The sad part. Local politicians have decided to tear this course down and build a High School. Even though when you are on the course you will notice miles of unused free space north and west of this location. Of course this would not affect these greedy fat cats since they all live on fancier golf courses than us little people (voters) can afford.
