Pines at Diamondhead Country Club
About
The Pines at Diamondhead Country Club was the first of two 18-hole golf courses built on the property. The semi-private course opened in 1969.
Designed by Earl Stone, the Pines measures 6,817 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 73.5 USGA rating. The golf course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Pines Course has well-placed bunkers and water that comes into play on many holes.

Great course
It’s a challenging and fun course. Staff is awesome and the club house is hard to beat.
Out of bounds everywhere
Both courses are in horrible shape. Out of bounds if you go left or right on almost everyhole. If you’re over 70 or hit the ball only down the middle you can probably score decent. No grass in the roughs, so if you stray at all your ball will most likely be outside the white stakes. Both courses will give you the same results. My two least favorite courses that I have played in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Pro shop workers are not friendly for the most part. The bar and servers are really good. Also, you can play so many nicer courses on the gulf coast for the same price or less. Greens are at best average and the sand traps are horrible.
Value doesn’t do it justice…
Not only are the courses top notch but the staff is extremely accommodating. Most courteous starters ever, pro shop staff as well as the clubhouse staff…never any complaints!
Pace of play was rough.
Had two big groups ahead of us. A good amount of waiting took place, and not sure if they have a marshal to enforce pace of play. Few of the greens were covered in leaves. Range and putting greens were nice. Overall was an alright course. Will go back, but not in any rush. Hopefully have a better experience with cardinal.
Played the Pine course. Very good condition. Enjoyed playing there and will return soon. Would definitely recommend this course.
