Great Day
For the financial difficulties this club has endured they have done a good job keeping it in shape. The greens are in excellent shape. The course has stood up well for the abundant amount of rain here in Colorado the last month.
still early
The course wasn't bad for this time of year. Would like to play when the greens are in better shape.
Fun course, poor bar service
The course had just been punched and sanded. I wish I knew that prior to the round. The wind was howling. For the course conditions I felt the cost of $48 was steep. I play here frequently and enjoy the course. Pro shop staff was very friendly. The bar service was awful. Stopped at the turn for a margarita and it took 10 minutes to get a half full glass of lime juice with approximately 1/8 of the alcohol required. Not only that but the server handled a while line without washing hands first, squeezed the juice in and then tossed the rinds in the drink. It was not consumable and I tossed it. The only reason I didn't have another made was because of how long it took. Had the weather not been terrible and more people on the course, we could not have waited. Very disappointed.
Good challenging course
Good pace of play, challenging course with lots of carry off the tee box for women and higher handicappers. Staff not very friendly in pro shop. Greens were in terrible shape, although just punched, they were very very sandy and impossible to putt on. Will be great to play in summer. Nice views.
Kings Deer Early Season Play
I have played here in the past and really enjoy the course, but Mid-March is not the time to be there. Greens are still brown from the winter and even worse still have sand on them. There are some bunkers that have no sand in them and just mud. That is really un-acceptable. Fairways were pretty good, but again Monument area gets more snow than other parts of the Springs. One would think they would fertilize the course more and take advantage of the extra water.....
Very Dry
Course was extremely dry and no food or drinking on an 80 degree day.
Great Course but Cart Path only Tough
Love the course but wasn't real happy about cart path only. Made for to much walking for us. However I will be back this summer to play much more. Nice course and I'm sure it is beautiful in the summer. Fairly tough course but fun.

February golf
Good signage for location of tee boxes for first timers
awesomw
Simply stated, all aspects of this round of golf were awesome. Certainly the polar opposite of our experience at Eagle Trace the day before where it took three hours and forty five minutes to play nine holes.
Slow,slow,slow
we were only able to finish 14 holes in the 4.5 hours regulation time. There was about 5 to 8 minute wait for every shot. The place was way over sold.
tough going
Overall the course was in good shape and I enjoyed the layout. However, the fairways and greens were EXTREMELY dry. If the fairway was sloped from left to right you had to hit your drive on the far left side to keep from rolling into the heavy rough. Several greens were so fast that short 2-3 foot putts would roll 10-30 past the hole and off the green. Many of the bunkers are bad shape. Any mistake was very costly. That might be the reason it took 5:15 to play 18 holes
On the rise!
Nabbed this round for only $18 on GolfNow, unbelievable value to say the least, and yes a cart was included. This course is under new ownership and definitely on the right track. Overall course condition was very good, and they have started putting some money into the overall facility. New large stone hole markers, benches w/ sponsorships on every tee box, etc. Bottom line is if you are looking for a quality links layout and play the appropriate tees, then you will be pleased w/ very good shot values and utilize most clubs in your bag. Give King's Deer a visit!
Tough layout but fair
Very challenging course. Fast greens. Need good course management on most holes. The course guide book helped a bunch. I will go back.
Very nice links-style course!!
We had a very enjoyable round at King's Deer! Everything was in peak condition - driving range, putting green, tee boxes, fairways, roughs, and greens.
Quite a demanding course in that you better be able to control your clubs - the weeds can/will eat you alive if you start spraying the ball around. Luckily, I didn't lose a single ball; but I did manage to find the few shots I placed in the weeds.
I can't comment much on Food & Beverage as we didn't eat or drink there - cart lady was around for the front nice only. Glad we had water to drink for back 9.
Our weather was also very good; my playing partners have played there when it has been questionable weather but they still had a good time.
Beautiful, Fun Course
Our group really enjoyed our round at King's Deer. The course was in excellent shape. The only thing I saw that needed improvement was the cart paths - no concrete in places. (This is a minor issue though!) King's Deer is a very nice, challenging course! I am looking forward to playing it again soon!!!
Windy, Windy, Windy!
Course was in great shape! Great value for the price and the fee included a lunch. The service in the bar was slow, but she was very busy. The wind was tough.
test yourself
Kings deer is set up to allow you to use all the clubs in your bag. The kind of course you need to play couple times to figure out the best approach to each hole. You may find out quickly what they mean by play it forward.
I enjoyed my round and will play again soon.
Course was challenging
Course was very challenging; deep rough. Unfortunately, we were unable to finish the round due to thunder and lightning storms that came upon us. But the course was worth playing.
