The Preserve at Deer Creek is a nine-hole, par-36 golf course in New Berlin, just 25 minutes outside of Milwaukee. Opened in 2003, the affordable course is still one of Waukesha County's best-kept secrets. It is fun for a quick round and it is also a great place for beginners to hone their skills. The player-friendly layout still has some bite to it with subtle but tricky contours and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course also boasts excellent conditions on the greens and fairways. While it may not be the place you are looking for if you are in search of a formidable test, it is the perfect spot for getting in some fast practice. There are also three different sets of tees so that you can tailor the golf course to your abilities.

Needs work
3 of the holes are full of weeds in the fairways. Lot of divot marks on the greens. Sprinkler heads with yardage marked on them are grown over with grass. If my yard looked this bad I'd be embarrassed.
Enjoyable course to play
There are a few fairways that are being redone so there are some big dead spots but the greens are in excellent condition. Usually is not very crowded so I enjoy playing this course. Good variety of holes for 9 including two par 5's and a long and short par 3
cheap, fast, aweful shape
Fairways are a mixture of dirt and weeds, greens are decent. Can't expect too much for $10.
Good Course for the Value
Overall the course is nice. There are a couple of fairways being reseeded, that are in bad shape, but the rest of the course is nicely maintained. It is a 9 hole course and the holes are short and not too difficult. It is a good place to play if you want to play a quick 9 holes or to practice on different parts of your game. The course is rarely busy, so you can usually find a tee time during the weekend and not have to wait on every hole. The price to play 9 holes is very reasonable too.
needs work
Weeds all over fairways. Greens are ok. Staff friendly.
Um, serves a purpose I guess
Course in tough shape (9th fairway beyond tough shape)...
Wouldn't spend $10 on it again.
Maybe OK for beginners to hack around a regulation length course at low cost
Good deal
A couple of the fairways are in terrible shape. No grass just weeds. Not crowded, good pace of play. Challenging 9 hole course.
Nice greens but fairways need work
I did not expect much for a 9 hole course at a decent price. The layout is actually kind of interesting (even if a little tight). However, most fairways were more weeds than grass. It appears most of the budget went into the greens which were in very good condition and pretty fast. Not bad if you just want to golf 9 holes and not spend a lot.
Hoping it gets better
This is a nice little 9-hole course, but it is fighting some tough fairway conditions on several holes. I've played here several times, and enjoyed the time and the course, but it's in tough shape, not the shape you'd go to with your regular golf partners. Pretty nice for some practice or exercise, though. Friendly staff. I'm hoping things improve soon, or we might lose a nice little course.
This course has good features.
This course has some challenging water hazards. Some have creeks running through the fairway. Because the course is properly marked at the tees, giving the yardage to the creeks, it allows you to ply accordingly. The ninth hole gives you a look a several water hazards.
Needs work
Holes #1,3 and 9 are under development. The fairways need time to grow. Once these are brought back up to shape this will be a nice 9 hole course. I would not recommend going this year but next year everything should look great.
A nice, quick 9 hole course
A few of the fairways are undergoing a reseeding at the time, which left some barren areas to deal with. The seed should be up in 2 to 3 weeks. Some of the grass was a little longer than desirable, but they were mowing it as I played. It was still a great value.
Rough shape
First time out. Really cheap for 9 holes. Found out why by hole 2. Hole fairway dead with reseeding in progress. Looked like a horse race ran over the fairways. (3 of 9 fairways are not playable)
If you can't hit fairways anyways, roughs are in better shape. Drought of 2012 destroyed this course. Too bad because it is 1/2 mile from my home. Good service. I will be back in 2014...
Tough Shape
The staff was unaware of how to deal with a golfnow booking and three of the fairways were essentially all dead grass. I know the rate was really lowe for 9 holes ($10.50), but I'd expect the course to be deemed not playable based upon 3 fairways essentially being unplayable.
Course is a little easy, needs some help from our rough spring weather.
Nice track for the price. Perfect course to work on parts of your game. Bad spring weather has not helped the fairways. I'm sure it will come around though.
Was early in season. Course under construction.
Course had 4 of 9 holes under construction. Was really wet so tough to judge. Only upset that I didn't need GolfNow to get the same deal they had at the course.
