Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Very enjoyable afternoon
This was my first time playing the Bear Course at Bear Creek. Great layout. Course was cart path only due to recent over-seeding. The new grass is in great shape and should soon be ready for carts. Course is challenging. The greens rolled nicely, but a bit slower due to recent over-seeding. The practice facilities are great too. The employees were all extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Bear Creek.
Course is in Good Shape
New grass is in abundance. Tee boxes needed to be trimmed; fairways rolled well; sand traps full; greens were receptive, though a bit slow (with some cups being poorly placed on ridges); rough was fair in depth. CPO seemed not to hinder pace of play much, finishing at 4 hours. TeeOff deal made it a good value. Practice range and putting green were also in fine shape.
Just OK
It’s a golf course. I found nothing really unique or special and course conditions were just OK.
Fun course
Had a good time conditions were great coming out of overseeding. Will return when the price is right
Flush condition's
Bear course just reopened 8 days ago from over-seeding. Cart path only from 3 week after opening so my round was CPO. 3:30 round as a 3 some with no waiting, staff said we got lucky rounds usually 4:30-5hrs.
Conditions were great. Fun course with easy layout. 5 par 3s, but back 9 par 3s are no joke. Grass was thick and greens were slow as expected from over seeding. Rental clubs were terrible!!! Flew in front out of town and played in a whim. Range balls were expensive. Overall fun course that’s not too difficult.
Because it was cart path only the play was extremely slow only got to play 14 holes and did not see a ranger all day
Hidden Gem in Chandler
Surprisingly good course in south Chandler. Course was in fantastic shape coming out of overseed. Greens were a touch shaggy and slow as expected, but fairways and everything else were wall-to-wall green and in great shape. Everyone from the pro shop to the starter and bag boys were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It was also great to see so many people walking the course although that comes with the downside of a slightly slower pace of play. The course is surprisingly hilly as every hole either plays slightly up or down which makes walking a little tougher. We played in 4' 10" playing behind a group of slow mediocre players who were all walking so I guess I can't complain too much. I can't wait to get back and play again. They also have a good size driving range, large short-game practice area and a putting green so a really nice facility overall.
Boss912
I am a Chicago resident soon to move to AZ. I have played this course twice before this review. This is the best condition in my experience. I spite of the over seeding the greens were not excessively slow. The fairways are in good condition with few bare spots, I highly recommend this course from a condition and cost aspect!!
Overseed Opening
Course just opened from overseed. Fairways were very good, greens nice bur a little slow which should be expected. The tee boxes, however, were disappointing. Nearly every one was on an uneven plane, with some forcing you to be as much as six inches above or below your ball. That needs correcting if charging $85. Pace was good, but that was because we walked and did not have to deal with the cart path only rules.
I hate to be that guy
1st off i must say, been playing at Bear Creek for over 10 years. this is the 1st i have ever left something there and it not be returned. Left my favorite pair of Sunglasses and selfie stick in cart 22 on that day, we were the last group out there on the bear course. “I not accusing anyone, just return my items”… . I called 1st the next day in the AM and pretty much every day after that, No one has returned anything, Like i said, not trying to be that guy, but i’m i so disappointed… I love this course and staff, it has soured me☹️ they have always been so good to me. Don’t know that i can go back, I know I maybe a bit emotional, but wouldn’t you be?
Greens
I understand that the greens had just been overseeded and just opened for play, but I do think they could have been mowed a liiiittle shorter. Great shape tho
Great condition
The course was in great shape. Greens rolled fast and true, pace of play was good and the cart person was on the ball!
Great Value
Bear Creek is a really nice, affordable, and fun to play links-style course to hone your golf skills. The groundskeepers have kept pace with the horrid weather this Summer as the tee boxes, fairways , aprons, and greens are in good shape.
Great Shape
This course is in great shape. Everything is great tee boxes, fairways, traps and the greens were at a perfect speed. Really enjoyed my day. Will be back soon. Thank you
Pace of play
First time playing this course. The website says they put people together to try and make the pace of play consistent. Great idea. Not what happened! Maybe because it was a holiday, but our foursome had a twosome and a single behind us. (We weren't slow, Nobody shot above 90). Everything else was great! Will give it another try on a non-weekend or Holiday.
Front side was not mowed but back side played faster
pretty good conditions but was odd that front side was wet and thick, and the back side was mowed and played faster. Greens were okay a little inconsistent in ways of speed. The price is way too high for this time of year. You would think it was winter already for what they are charging.
