5 Groups on one hole....
Disappointing. That one word sums it all up.
By the time we got to the 5th hole, there were 5 groups there.
No marshal to move things along and apparently no etiquette in letting the faster players play thru. 3 Holes open ahead of the offending group.
When we got back to the clubhouse and complained, all they had to say was "Yea, we know it's slow, But we let all of our staff go"
This from a course that wants to charge $50 per round. Not for me, not anymore. I'll spend my $$$ elsewhere.
last minute, great value.
Greens recently aerated. Would love for courses to indicate information like this and also "cart path only" when booking. Hate to be surprised with these things when you get to course. Having said these negative things, this course is usually an enjoyable track, and it was today.
Enjoyed the course
Course was in good shape, considering that the greens were recently aerated. Fairways in excellent shape and bunkers maintained.
Good fairways.
The price I paid was good. I would have been very unhappy if I would have paid the $32 the other tee times showed. The greens were punched and a couple of them did not have sand in the holes. Golf courses should let you know when they have been worked on recently. Kind of late for this type of work.
Even though the price was good this was not a good golf day given the greens.
Links Style
My friend and I decided to try a new course and chose The Link at Dardennes. Fun course that was in decent shape.
PROS
Open format...not many trees
Challenging holes but still a chance to shoot well.
CONS
Greens were chewed up. In fact, before our round, we were asked to tend the ball marks on the green. I found that odd but when I went to the greens, I saw what he meant. Poor golf etiquette
I may go back but there are much better courses with lower green fees that I would consider.
Well maintained course but gets a lot of play.
The course is nice and very playable. Fairways are in excellent shape but the greens have a lot of ball marks from the amount of play the course gets. If there was one negative I would say they let too many people play instead of sticking to tee time reservations. I had a 9:33 tee time on a Tuesday and had to wait for 3 four somes to tee off before we got to go off. We waited at every hole and the round took over 4 and half hours too play, thankfully it was not hot. With Mid Rivers golf course closed there are fewer options in the St. Charles area to play golf.
Nice course
The staff at this course was very friendly. We started around 3:30 and the pace of play was very good. The course was well maintained and fun to play. The only two thing that could be improved. first there were no carts roaming the course with drinks, though there was plenty of water on the course. Secondly the greens were rough from inconsiderate players not fixing their ball marks. I don't blame the course for this problem but it was a problem.
The course was in good shape and average level of difficulty.
My wife and I played on a Saturday afternoon. The temperature was in excess of 100 degrees. We had a positive experience. The only minor complaints were the cart lady left at 1:30, and the water supply on the course was short. Luckily I brought extra water. One other minor problem was the excess number of ball marks on the greens. I'm sure it was the result of the type of greens on the course, but this did cause some missed putts. Otherwise the service was excellent and the course provided a reasonable challenge. The price was also right, thanks to Golfnow.
A clean and kept course
Enjoyed 18 holes. Bunkers and greens well maintained. Would play this course again.
Wide Fairways, Greens need some work.
Wide Fairways, Greens need some work. The course plays fast and is reasonably priced.
Fun to play and there's always others willing to join up to make it a great outing.
I'd play this course everyday if I had the chance.
Nice shape
Had a nice round on a well maintained course. Got to witness a hole in one on #13 with the twosome I was paired with. Good value for the money.
Poor pace of play, marshalls are useless!
I paid for 18 holes and it was a very slow day on the course. I thought it was a normal Sunday pace until I waited on the 5th tee box for 30mins alone! Two marshalls came by said hi, and didn't do anything to speed up play. I quit and went to the proshop and asked for a refund and he only gave me a 9 hole raincheck even though I only played 4 holes!! Awful customer service, poor course conditions, high rates, and very slow pace of play. Would never recommend this course!
Need tee box improvement
Course needs tee box improvement. Greens are nice. Rough is hard to get out of.
Very nice course...
But is a little expensive for what it is if you just call and make a tee time. With the golf now discount though it becomes a conveniently located course that's very nice at a good value.
Great conditions
The course was in great shape and the other players that I was paired with (members) were very nice. Would return to the course without hesitation.
Greens and fairways were in great shape
Great course and excellent conditions. Well maintained and great service via cart girls
Course had all the features we enjoy.
The sand traps were raked, the greens were cut. The cart lady was helpful in keeping our water cups filled as it was 96 degrees. The course plays easy for us with wide fairways and mostly level greens. Made for a fun and enjoyable 18 holes of golf.
This course has open fairways.
The open and a bit wider fairways are more forgiving for the "slicing" golfer. Greens were in good shape and a tad fast. The rough was cut to a height to which you could manage a shot to the green.
