Port Ludlow Golf Resort
About
The Resort at Port Ludlow sits along the shores of the Puget Sound with views that stretch across the Port Ludlow Bay. Located just 90 minutes from Seattle, the resort offers a luxurious waterfront inn, a marina, an award-winning restaurant, and a championship 18-hole golf course. Robert Muir Graves designed the course. He crafted a layout that challenging but rewarding, all while preserving the beautiful natural surroundings. The golf course is just one of 10 in the state of Washington that is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. During your round, you'll enjoy abundant wildlife and panoramic views of the Hood Canal and Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. The golf course isn’t long but it's tight and will require both accuracy and strategy. Many holes are dramatically sloped and there are hazards facing you at almost every turn.

Great beauty and what a view!
The views on this course are just spectacular! Its across the Hood Canal and somewhat secluded, but really a nice course to play. JGG
Fun as always, but took forever
I love coming to this course a few times a year, but Sunday seemed interminable. They usually don't have this problem here.
I played the first four holes in good measure and hit the wall for 14. I we had played the entire course at that pace it would have taken five hours. And there there was nobody from the course out to monitor pace or push.
Otherwise the course was in good shape and fun to play. it's not rock-hard like most courses this late in the summer.
nice cousre
Course was in great shape, fairways nice and green for this time of year and the greens are in great shape
Perfect day for golf
Weather was perfect and my playing partners were gentlemen. The staff were very friendly and helpful while the course delivered up a fine challenge.
The greens were rolling well with a few blemishes visible. The bunkers have inconsistent and at times not enough fluffed sand plus rocks. The fairways were a mixed due to trouble with the irrigation system and the tee boxes needed a hair cut. With those caveats aside, it was a fun day of golf.
This course has good sceenery
The course was good, the scenery was excellent, the prices for snacks, food, and beverages were too expensive and should be dropped to comply with the standards of courses within an hour distance. Beer is beer and hot dogs are hot dogs. High prices force golfers to bring their own snacks/beverages whether it be legal or illegal.
Excellent as usual
Beautiful setting. Challenging layout. Course was in excellent condition as usual. Go play there. You won't be disappointed.
gorgeous course
This may be the most beautiful course in the State. It is lovely to look at. However, the course was very soggy in many areas, considering the small amount of rain we have had in the area, and yet, there were also many areas on the fairways that looked diseased or totally lacking water where the grass was patchy and sparse. This is worth playing both for the extreme challenge and especially for the beautiful layout.
Challenging and beautiful course
This was my second time to play Pt. Ludlow and it had been about 10 years. The course was in great shape, and I found it very challenging. Placement of tee shots was key on this course (and that didn't always work out for me). I linked up w/ some other golfnow guys and had a lot of fun. We even had a bald eagle fly eye-height down a fairway right between us. It was incredible.
Also, we had breakfast there and it was very good and was a good deal. Thanks.
Enjoyable course
I thought it would be more scenic but I did enjoy seeing huge stumps left from the logging industry from the past.
SLOW ROUND
ENDED UP GOING OUT AS A SINGLE, QUIT AFTER 6 HOLES, COURSE WAS BACKED UP WITH FOURSOMES, THERE WAS AS MANY AS 3 GROUPS ON A HOLE AT THE SAME TIME. DISAPPOINTING BECAUSE IT A HAD BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD PLAYED THERE, WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING, MORE DISAPPOINTING, I WAS 1 UNDER AFTER 6
Expected gas carts
The electric carts are the type that will stop and set the brake with just a tap. Quiet and no pollution.
We teed off on schedule and would have finished earlier but a tournament with several foursomes kept the pace a little under 4 hours. The fairways were in good shape with a few bare patches. The water hazards are not always visible until you get to them so be aware. I will go back.
A Nice Sunday Walk
Port Ludlow is a good test of golf with many interesting holes and tough uphill climbs on both #9 and #18 back to the clubhouse. Save yourself for the tough finishing hole: tee shot must carry, uphill all the way, half-blind approach shot. Most greens are well protected by bunkers, but soft and very true to putt with a good amount of slope on most. Another feature I like is that many of the tees are elevated down to the fairway. There is water but if you're careful you can avoid most water problems.
Great course
This is my first time at this course and though I'm fairly new at golf I loved it. It was challenging but fun. We were paired up with someone but she was great. The Marshall checked regularly to see if we needed anything and the snack gal came often. The Marshall even went and found my lost club. Great course! Definitely recommend it and will go again.
30 years later
Last minute great deal through discount green fee site. Used to play the course 30 years ago but when the exchange was more favorable to us Canadians. Trees have matured and it was a pleasure to play and remember holes and layout again. Played on a Fri., we finished the front 9 in under 2 and hrs.
Unfortunately, the back 9 slowed down to 2 3/4hr. The course had received a summer rainfall for the last 2 days and the course was quite soft. balls were plugging in the fairway. We will return as there are some great green fee deals available on the discount golf sites.
It would be nice for the pro shop to inform the golfers whether you are starting on the Tide or Timber course
the greens were excellent
I did not know about this course, found it on your site it was about 25 minutes from my house in Bremerton, I will definitely play this course many more times this summer.
Very friendly course and Staff
From the valet cart drop at our car to the willingness of the staff to be flexible with our unlimited golfing rounds, it was a great 36 holes at Port Ludlow. It played easier than it looked, but I don't mind low scores. Lots of slope, but the greens played well.
great
Wonderful golf course beautiful views no homes andwell mmaintained.
Great summer conditions
Greens were in great shape, fairways soft but good run. Enjoyable round of golf.
Fun in the Sun
The course was in great shape and it was warm sunny afternoon. I look forward to playing the this course again.
