Westhill Golf Club
About
One of the newer courses in a land of golf courses that are over a century in age, Westhill Golf Club still brings three decades of experience to the plush Aberdeen golf scene. Built in 1977, Westhill quickly earned a reputation as a quality place to play golf and a great option for those looking to make the most of their Scotland golf vacation package.
Westhill Golf Club is an 18-hole run that plays to nearly 6,000 yards and a par of 69. Water, well-placed bunkers and challenging greens make the course a stiff test for even low handicappers. Well-maintained fairways and mature trees only help add to the allure of this course that sits less than 10 miles from Aberdeen.
And while the golf will keep a player challenged, Westhill also has what so many other Scotland golf courses present - spectacular scenery. Your companion during the round will include stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Royal Deeside, as well as the Grampian Mountains and Mount Keen.

A challenge if never played before
Nice course, not ideal for visitors as had to figure out where next tee was on a few holes. Greens were in good condition. Didn’t meet any staff or have food so couldn’t comment on that. Got for a deal of £18 per person so was good value for money.
Excellent
Course in great condition, one blip on hole 4 where we missed signs for temp green.
Fairways very good and greens excellent, very friendly members and staff.
Not set up for visitors
I played this course just last weekend for the first time. Got myself set up with the clubs & shoes on and walked down to where I assumed a club shop or office with a starter would be but no there was nothing. It would appear that you need to go down into the Bar and must not go past the front door with any form of golf shoes on. So i walked back up to my car and had to change my shoes and then went back down to check in. Stood at Bar for a few mins and the nice lady went to serve me and when I told her i was there to check in for the golf she looked a bit confused. I just asked shall i just walk on and she said that was ok, which is what I done.
The course itself was fine, Couple of nice holes on there which were quite enjoyable, The views going around the course are really nice. The 4th was a bit of a strange one as it was set up for shared green on the 18th which basically meant you needed to play short of the usual green and then make sure you hit the shared green because the ground between is the other green or a road, or unplayable.
All in all I would say this is an average course and paying around £30 is a fair price, I have played better courses for this price that have starter boxes or atleast someone to confirm your arrival.
Waste of time and money!
This is an absolute joke to be charging £40 a round. It’s either extremely badly signed on the golf course (spray paint on trees to indicate next tee) or absolutely absent of signage, like the 4th green was GUR,
Nothing around it, nothing to say it was a shared green with the 18th today. Then the entire of the twelfth hole I was followed by the mower. Honestly golfers, if you’re gonna spend 40ish quid. Go to Portlethan or someone decent because this is a 20 quid course at best. Pathetic
Quirky Little Course.
The course set up is particularly quirky and not the most obvious course layout. The conditions were awful when I played although this because the weather and not the staff. Think I’ll return in better weather as the course might feel a lot different then. Agree with previous comment not really set up for visitors.
Westhill golf course
Played with my father and nephew whom walked around. Able to organise a golf buddy. Had junior tees on the front nine which allowed my nephew to practice .
Great views, some great holes. The pro shop was wel equipped with attire and accessories.
Will play again.
Not great value for money
Booked in for 7.10am almost a week in advance, and upon arriving there was noone there to greet us/book us in. No scorecards left out (the pot was empty, a member confirmed this is where they would be).
Practice area - Fantastic. A short game chipping area, nets and a putting green on the first tee are fantastic to start you off.
The tee boxes and fairways were in good nick. Greens less so. Bald in areas and patchy in others.
The layout is a bit tricky to get around with minimal signage. But a member was able to point the correct way to go.
Course was playable. Just. But there are better courses nearby for £30 or less.
Not for us.
Too many blind holes and sloping fairways for us.
Some greens very bare but this is still early in the season
Seems like it would be an amazing course
This course seems like it would be an amazing course to play in the summer as the greens look well maintained. The course layout in the winter was a bit confusing for s first time player was a little difficult to navigate but All round seems like a great course
First time playing this course which was in great condition the only down side was the greens were recently spiked and heavily covered in sand which was very disappointing but overall a great course and will definitely play again
Westhill lovely, Golfnow disappointing,
I found out two hours before my tee time course was closed app said I could modify so tried to change another course close to Westhill , Phoned GolfNow with all the numbers on GolfNow websites all numbers were discontinued sent several emails with no response,
Called Westhill golf club spoke to a helpful man he sent an email to GolfNow with no response either , the guy said he will honour our tee time when weather is better , I have played course several times and do enjoy it,
Thank you Westhill golf Club ,
Interesting enough
Don’t play here during winter. It’s a bit of a waste of time.
The rest of the year it’s fine though.
