Kirkcaldy Golf Club
About
Kirkcaldy Golf Course in Fife, Scotland, is an attractive, 18-hole parkland course that features a traditional Scottish burn that meanders by five holes throughout the course. Founded in 1904, Kirkcaldy is known locally as Balwearie and is spread over 150 acres of Fife countryside,
The challenges start early on Kirkcaldy Golf Course. The burn comes into play on No. 1, a 330-yard par 4. Hit over it on your drive and make sure you're not too big on the approach, as you will be left with a downhill chip out of the rough.
Kirkcaldy's version of "Amen Corner" starts at No. 6, a 345-yard par 4. Don't hit it to the center with your drive because you will end up on the right hand side. Hit to the front part of the right green. No. 7 is a 130-yard par 3 and the club's signature hole. Don't miss the green right, because the burn running alongside the hole is out of bounds. Amen ends at No. 8, a 329-yard par 4. It's the shortest par 4 on the course, but you have to deal with more burn and out of bounds on the right side.
Finish strong on No. 17, a 518-yard par 5. This is a "should I or shouldn't I?" hole as you contemplate crossing the burn in two from the top of the hill.
Kirkcaldy Golf Club is open to visitors and features a pro shop and a clubhouse that serves food and has social events like jazz concerts and performances by local bands.

Good course
Had a nice round. The condition of the course was good even after this Scottish "heatwave". Enjoyable and I'll definitely play again
Great course
Played for the first time today, great course..........will definitely be back again!!!
Excellent value for money!!!
Played Sunday morning in glorious weather. Course was in excellent condition for the time of year .Some beautiful little areas are very pleasing on the eye.
Speed of play was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful...The three of us will definitely be back.
Warm welcome with interesting layout!!
We teed off early morning and received a very warm welcome from the pro before heading out. The course was in great condition, in particular the quick, well manicured and minuscule greens!! There were numerous 4 balls on the course ahead of us but the pace of play was excellent, around 3 hours 30 minutes. Not a course you need to be blasting a driver off every tee as it's very tight on holes 5-9 and the remainder are fairly short (excluding the par 5s). The pro came out on his buggy to see how we were getting on and spoke to us again at the 18th green. Also had numerous chats with members keen to make us feel welcome and get feedback on their course. Great value and great fun.
Nice course, good value.
A nice course to play,, windy conditions created a few problems but not the courses fault. Slow visitors in front also spoiled it a little but other members very patient and friendly despite them playing in a medal.
Good views and course in fine condition.
Kirkcaldy golf course
Always find this course in good condition when I've played. Friendly welcome at pro shop too. A few steep hills to look out for if mobility is an issue.
Hilly
First tee shot across the burn and then straight up the hill. Don't be put off, the climb is worth it. A few more climbs during the round which make the course very interesting.
good course worth a game
tricky course par 5 are challenging one hole closed because of rain in last couple of days. will go back and play it in summer when ground a lot drier
Good Condition and Value for Winter
The weather lately has been very wet and the course was wet but playable, only a couple of winter greens. However they are between professionals and the course layout especially around the 6th could have been explained as one of the holes was not available.
bit disappointed
Was left slightly disappointed with a couple of things, tee boxes were a bit difficult to find on some holes there was no flag on the green on the par 3,seventh but all in all can't complain to much as was extremely cheap at £8.50 through golfnow.
