Longniddry Golf Club is situated along the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, just a few miles east of Edinburgh. The course has a unique design that combines woodlands and links. Based on the scorecard alone, the golf course does not seem particularly long, especially not by today's standards, but don't let that fool you. Although there are no par 5s to be found on the course, golfers will come across eight par 4s that measure over 400 yards. Many of Longniddry Golf Club's holes play much longer than the indicated yardage thanks to the hilly terrain, numerous strategically placed bunkers, and mature pines. The fairways are quite generous and the greens are large, but golfers will be faced with punishing gorse and rough if their shot is even slightly wayward. The prevailing winds add another difficult element to the course.

On turning up at the course you are greeted with a large car park, on entering the club shop we where greeted warmly and the shop is well stocked.
We played off the yellow tees very testing course some wonderful long drives and the greens are very fast, but overall the course is stunning very well looked after the views out to sea are beautiful. Everyone at this course was very friendly any information you needed they gave you it. I highly recommend this course if your in the area.

The course was in great condition for the time of year. Greens had sand over them but the ball still ran true. Will definitely be coming back to play. Superb course. Thank you.

Longniddry

Overspill car park not the best introduction to Longniddry. Club house, which is being refurbished made up for poor first impressions. Friendliness of staff in proshop also excellent.
Course is nicely laid out, similar to links, but basically parkland. Well positioned bunkers mean that you have to think about how you play a hole. Some interesting par 3s and a few very long par 4s, no mens' par 5s at all, which is a little strange especially as a couple of the par 4s were 450 yards plus. In the summer when the ball rolls on the dry ground it should just be possible for higher handicappers to reach these greens in two. Some of the greens are very well guarded and require fairly accurate approach shots to stay out of trouble. Greens themselves had recently been hollow tined and were a bit erratic as a result. However, you could see that once back in normal condition they will play well with some very subtle contours.
The haggis and egg roll afterwards in the club house, along with the excellent friendly service, was a real treat and a perfect end to our day.
In short, a course suitable more for middle to higher handicappers, with excellent spring weather meant a most enjoyable day.

Excellent course great layout and condition for time of the year.
Excellent value for money at £20 on a hot deal.Only downside was the 5th green was being worked on so on a temporary green and the 5th looks a great hole short dog leg par 4 with an elevated green.
I willplay again in the summer.

Good quick greens.

The course itself is very good, with some nice holes and some demanding tee shots, the greens were very quick and putted well, the bunkers were ok, my only negative thing really to say about the course was that the fairways needed quite a bit of attention got a good rate to play if I had paid the full price I would have been a little disappointed.,

Links/park

Lovely links golf course with trees to keep you honest. Beutiful scenery and views of firth and Edinburgh in distance. As is the case with this whole coastline. Very fair course although there are a few mid fairway bunkers that are a suprise, but thats links golf.
