Great course!
Thoroughly enjoyed our day out at Carnwath, course was in excellent condition for the time of year, only thing I would say is that navigating between tee boxes isn’t the most straightforward if it’s your first time playing the course, could be a bit better sign posting but still thoroughly enjoyed the day and would definitely go back 👍🏻
Shame about the weather.
Great course. Staff very friendly. The weather was awful but it’s Scotland in march.
Carnwath
Considering the time of year and the recent weather the course was in good condition. It stands up well to the rain. Managed to play 16 of the holes, with no winter greens.
Staff and local golfers always make you feel welcome. Most holes are enjoyable and playable, but not too keen on the 8th tbh. It's a big climb to the green, but you are rewarded with a nice elevated drive on the 9th.
Great course that won't disappoint.
Fantastic course
Best greens I’ve played on this year. Played this course about 5 times and just keep coming back. Well worth a visit if you haven’t played it.
Highly recommended
Great course, one of the best in the area. Well worth the travel.
Second time around, immaculate condition
My son and I played on consecutive Sundays, the course was in mint condition both days. The layout is tricky on a first visit but highly enjoyable on a second round. Physically it’s a good workout with quite a few steep hills but rewarded with stunning views. The weather was very kind to us so we do have a rose-tinted view of our time there. I didn’t lose a ball which is a good indicator of tightness, my son hits the ball further so he lost a few but he’s young and wants to melt everything : ( Coukdnt believe we got tee times on Sundays, definitely return. Highly recommend.
Tough Start
Really enjoyed a return visit to Carnwath. Be prepared for a tough back to back par 3 start. Take enough club at the first as plays longer than yardage due to steep slope up to well protected green. Course was in very good condition with greens absolutely rapid. Staff friendly with very good menu available in clubhouse.
Recommend a visit
Best day out for quite some time
I played Carnwsth as a child with my dad and his pal and always have had a fondness for the place. After that my game was good enough to play in the club’s July 36 hole open and enjoyed that too. Now I’m nearer 80 than 70 and luckily still fit enough to get round most courses under my own steam. This was a special day because of , well, everything. From Brian in the bar with whom we had a great blether to the catering gentleman, to the lady in the pro’s shop, to the friendliness of the members we encountered, to the greens staff, only three of them we were told. The three of you should stick your chests out ; the course is great. And, the layout itself. Hillier than I remember but short enough to get round without being knackered. In very good condition, as I’ve said, for the end of October. We’ll be back.
Very good course
Very good course , another enjoyable round . Greens had been scarified but ran very true and were fast will return again 100%
Carnwath
Lovely course, great reception from the pro shop staff. When he realised I was looking for a club ball marker- but they were out of stock- he gave me one from his own bag. Initially play was slow but when the 3-ball finally stepped aside it was nice to be able to swing freely.
A fun course
This is a fairly hilly course, might no be to everyones taste but I really enjoyed it. Greens were like concrete, really struggled to hold them from any distance but putting on them was amazing. For £25 i’ll be back
Lovely course
This is a lovely course and plenty of nice holes and a good mix of challenges

Members : Very welcoming and friendly
Pro Shop: Kevin & Brian , very helpful , welcoming , gave out advice about course. GN players don't always get genuine welcome , exact opposite the guys were genuinely interested to hear our views and make our visit enjoyable
Course: Excellent condition, fairways well defined, good sand in bunkers ( I was in too many ) Greens run true and fastest we have encountered , Only 3 greens staff , they deserve credit for the condition of the course
Course layout is varied utilising the contours, there are some points where there is cross over but not a problem.
Club house: Modern and comfortable. Clearly the catering uses local fresh produce and is very reasonably priced and like all others service is with a smile
Definitely a course to visit again
Thanks to all at Carnwath for a very enjoyable day
