Really nice

Played as a 3 ball and the course was in excellent condition. Well manicured and good course layout with a variety of challenging holes. Some holes would be short for the big hitters but the bunkers are positioned well to protect the course and maintain the challenge. The greens were very good and quite fast after the hot weather. There was a 4 ball in front that were quite slow but not sure if members or visitors. Staff at pro shop and clubhouse afterwards were very friendly. We will definitely play again.

Challenging course

First time playing at Kirkintilloch golf course and found it to be a challenging course with a fair layout. Disappointed as we were held up behind a 5 ball for several holes also the course is very dry due to the unusual weather in Scotland at the moment.
Staff were friendly along with most of the members. Hopefully next time I play here there’s no 5 ball in front of me.

Kirkintilloch golf course

I played today on Sunday afternoon, I was put in with a separate two ball, nice guys so no issues there. Plenty of chances to shoot a good score as lots of shortish par 4s. I preferred back nine compared to front. Putting greens ran very well and fairways / rough were in good nick. Plenty of heavier rough if you hit wild tee shots but needs to be very wild. Overall really enjoyed the day and would no doubt play it again.

Enjoyable Round - well presented

Very nicely presented course that's clearly well looked after. Greens were in good condition and fairways are in fine fettle. There's an interesting range of holes with varying difficulty and length. Staff & pro shop very friendly, good bar and good practice facilities.

This one comes recommended - looking forward to returning. Good value for money.

Fine course.

Third time playing this course...very nice layout...lovely condition..Pro and staff very friendly and helpful.
30 min drive from the East, but well worth the trip. This would be an ideal venue for an outing...older style clubhouse,
But great food and members very welcoming. Friday morning slots particularly good as not as busy. Give it a go.

Nothing personal with Kirkintilloch GC

My issue was with booking a 2 ball on teeofftimes and then turning up on time to be told by the staff at Kirkintilloch GC that we would be paired up with the strangers/randoms whonare still to turn up and weren’t due to tee of until well after we were due to tee off. I understand that this is policy in the T&C’s but common courtesy you should at least be calling and notifying me in advance. As it happens I only had time to play for a couple of hours (which is usually what a 2 ball would take). I didn’t appreciate having to be paired up with 2 strangers, doubling the one that would be taken to play the round without being notified in advance. I asked if we could go out as a 2 ball but was told that this was not an option (despite booking a 2 ball). So we left and played elsewhere as we didn’t have time to hang about for two randoms that hadn’t appeared yet.

Nice round of golf but don't overpay

Greens on the course were in great condition given the very wet weather the west of Scotland has been getting. Nice opening par 4 followed by a tough little par 3 2nd, 3 to 6 a but repetitive and uninteresting, 7 to 12 look and feel better, 13 14 15 a bit crammed in so could slow things up if course is busy 16 17 18 forgiving enough for your round to end on an up note. Pro was helpful and cheerful on arrival at course. Worthwhile giving this course a go but wouldn't spend over £20 for the round if you can

Greens and fairways very good .

Staff were very helpful and friendly and got us off earlier than our booked time , course was in very good condition and although we got some heavy showers the course stood up well and no surface water appeared . Pace was very good even though there were club championships matches on . I would certainly play this course again and recommend it .

Good layout but feels neglected

The course is a challenging, if short, hilly layout. It's very picturesque and is fun to play but it feels like more could me done to keep the course in good condition. The bunkers were rock solid due to never being raked and it was very soggy in the lower parts.

Testing

Course was in great condition and greens were some of the best I have played on. Fairway were cut well and bunkers well kept. Only issue was a member who was really cheeky to our group of 4 telling us to "get a move on as we are holiding the whole course up". His tone and manners were not what you would expect towards guests. His friend did later apologise for him, however, still felt annoyed at his behaviour! We were keeping up with the pace of play so in no way were playing slower than anyone else on the course.

Another excellent round at Kirkie :)

This is the second time I have played Kirkie GC and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The members and staff are super friendly ( many thanks to the gentleman who bought my girlfriend a bottle of water and advised us of the course highlights ....much appreciated!). The course itself is a good challenge and we were particularly impressed by the greens which were in excellent order ( better than current condition of the greens at Mar Hall and Gleneagles which I played recently). All in all a very enjoyable round ...we will be back!!
