Equipment obstacles
The course is going through aeration on the greens. We played the first 9 holes twice. On the third hole there was an equipment vehicle left in front on the ladies tee box. We looked around for the employee to move it out of the way , but no one was around. I am not a professional by any means, but to try and drive your ball up and over a big grass equipment cutter was very frustrating and upsetting. Golf is all about concentrating on your shot!
On the 5th hole, I was on the fairway addressing my ball ready to hit when a tractor just plowed on through about 15 ft. from me with a load of sand. The employee didn’t even think to stop and wait for me to hit.
A friend joined us on us on the fifth hole, so we then had a foursome. They paid $88.00 for 12 holes under these conditions. We paid $50.00 with golf now. It is a beautiful course when you can play all 18 holes without obstacles.
The manager was very kind and listened to my concerns, however, no compensation was offered to the person who had to pay the full price for playing half the course under frustrating conditions.
Tough course
Pretty good value for your money. Just beware that the front 9 is much tougher than the back 9.
Santa Barbara golf challenge
Glen Annie is in superb shape for a nice fall round if golf.
No Sand?
Traps have dirt and rocks, no sand. I guess sand costs too much? Make the traps unplayable and the round disappointing.
Yearly visit
Our yearly visit to the area and this is our favorite course to play. Clouds did not open up for us but we had an awesome day playing. Once again the front nine got the best of me but I bounced back and redeemed myself on the back. Me , my gf and my son will be back to play every time we are in the area.
Dissatisfied
All the maintenance people are out, on a Friday! They should do their job at least on a slow day like Monday or Tuesday. The golf course is a target golf to begin with but, The sand traps are hideous, it is Dark sand with mud, smh. Anyway, it was a gorgeous day and still recommended this to play.
Okay course
Not sure if it was just the day we were there but the course was not in great shape. It was a difficult course where it was rare to hit off flat ground. The tee boxes were not well groomed, the fairways were brown in many places, and the greens were overwatered so they were damaged easily with pitch marks or people slamming their putters into them in anger. We were recommended this course many times and it didn't really live up to the hype. But if you are in the area and can get a deal, go ahead and play it, otherwise it is not worth the $80 typical green fee.
Prepaid on Golfnow but golf club would not honor tee time
I prepaid $60 for a tee time at this course but when I showed up the course said they had no record of prepayment and wanted $95 to play. Even after speaking with Golfnow they would not honor the time. Golfnow refunded my payment but the course is not worth $95 so I left. Disappointed with both Golfnow and with golf course.
Pin Placement
The key is be on Correct level on the Green ! The Greens are true and ungulating
Beautiful views, incredibly slow play. Quit after 9 holes - took three hours. No Marshall in sight.
Pacific Ocean Breezes
Glen Annie golf club in the foothills above Santa Barbara is surrounded with palm trees, lemon and avocado orchards and stunning views of the ocean and islands. Located just minutes from the Santa Barbara airport this challenging course features cliff hanger tee boxes lofting over canyons and creeks , long manicured fairways dog legging around wildlife filled water hazards and ravines. Professionally maintained with kind and friendly staff with a cozy bar , fireplace and patios to enjoy dining and cocktails. Playing this course is like a vacation get away every time I play it.
