Nice layout
Nice layout. Conditions are a little rough but somewhat expected for a public course that sees a lot of play.
Jersey steamer
It was about 100 degrees but ended up being a great round. Nice little driving range to warm up. Course conditions were very good. Greens rolled nicely (a bit on the slower side) and well maintained (very few ball marks). Pace wasn't bad. Started as a foursome but 2 left after 9 holes so we went at a leisurely pace. Took about 4:20. There was water on the course in several locations and we saw the cart girl 3 or 4 times throughout the day. I would definitely go back again.
Only Getting Better
Going to be the best kept secret in NJ. Course in great shape, and did a great job with pacing (typically an issue)
Good Challenging Course
Very challenging course for a mid/high handicapper. Undulating fairways with lots of bunkers. 2nd time I’ve played there and hope to get back again. Driving range and large putting green. Did not check out clubhouse and amenities… looks like they are doing some renovations.
Almost There
Course was well maintained despite the recent May/early June drought with no burnt out areas. Nice layout with elevation changes you wouldn't expect in South Jersey. Front nine had good mix of holes, back nine features par 4s all over 365 yards. Course is returning from 2-year closure due to bankruptcy and staff seemed to try extra hard to win back golfers. Only drawback was that restaurant was closed but was told it was reopening by the end of June.
PACE OF PLAY
THEY JAMMED TODAYS COURSE UP. 10 min tee times apart with cart path only ?! On 80 degree weather and the course was dry ? 3 hours and 45 mins to play 9 holes for $120. I couldn’t take it. I thought maybe when I got to the 10th hole those tremendous groups in front of us may have left. Nope it was like watching a bunch of ants play golf. Hit the ball ten feet and walked up and hit it again for a score of 12 on each hole !!! . Someone who puts the name “LBI” on there golf course and thinks they’re getting anything related to that. Turn your car around and leave and go 30 mins north. It was an absolute a joke today. Rangers just laughed at us when we ask him several times to help speed it up. Unfortunately I’d rather play ocean acres it’s walking distance and half the price of this “ wedding venue “ I’ll definitely never playing here again. Pathetic
LBI-sea gate
Staff super friendly, course in great shape. excellent lay out. great course and price good on deal time
Painfully slow 5 1/2 hours OUCH
Some kind of member tournament ahead of us.
Waited to tee off between 10 and 15 minutes on each hole and the people in front of us could care less.
Unenjoyable when your pace is interrupted on EVERY SINGLE HOLE.
5 1/2 hours total. It was TRULY PAINFUL to follow these people.
Also it would have been really nice if someone told us there was NO WATER ON THE COURSE ANYWHERE. We would have brought along a few extra bottles.
$99 - I don't think so.... never again.
Not worth the price
Appearantly the course was bought a couple years ago by new owners and the current owners are bringing it up to speed. They are charging rates as if it’s already there and it is absolutely not. Weeds and bare spots a plenty. We teed off at 12:50 on a Saturday. There is not on course food or drinks (no water) aside from the cart girl. She was as available as Haley’s comet though. Literally caught her once at whole 10 at which point she didn’t have any food on her and her drink selection was already limited. Needless to say we didn’t see her again. That’s ridiculous, I mean not only was in dire need of water but also beer and something to eat. It’s like they are pretending at running a course without any idea how. Spend your money elsewhere I’ve played substantially nicer courses with food and drinks available easily for half the price.
