Horrendous layout

The location of the course is fantastic but thats where the good points stop for me. The amount of dangerous and blind tee shots is crazy. You have to tee off over greens, roads and close to houses. You also need to cross a public road and train tracks twice during the round. First and hopefully the last time I play there - I will go for a walk on the beach beside it though. A lot of other far better golf courses in the area I would play before this.

Tight and quirky

Most golfers only play Sutton when they have to, e.g., inter club matches. It doesn't feel like a golf course at all with some very strange holes, blind shots, makey uppy dog legs, hidden bunkers, silly tight fairways, etc. It has out of bounds on nearly every hole.
All that is memorable about Sutton is the view.

Great links course

The course was well set up. Water features were well placed, lots of bunkers some quite deep. Only draw back is that there is only 9 holes but as we all know with wind and rain no hole plays the same the second time around.
