Very disappointed with the £50 charge.... was happy to pay initially... although the fairways were in a very poor condition.......

Beautiful course and managed perfectly during these difficult times.

Old course
Lovely course in top nick play was lovely and quick all fairways and greens in great nick and a course you have to think about each shot , both of us enjoyed the course very much defo will be back only down size due to covid 19 was we couldn’t sample a after match beverage only reason for not scoring after course facilities
Slightly sad
Played this course last year and really enjoyed it so I when I saw it advertised at just £20 for 18 holes today we jumped at the chance.
Sadly the course was not in good condition, the fairways were not really cut and the greens were terrible. Very slow and bumpy. I expected more especially considering as we waited to tee off the 1st one of the greenkeeping staff was raving about how they hadn’t had any rain for two weeks.
Also we unfortunately played during a seniors roll up and the three balls in front of us were very
slow and were not interested in allowing us as a two ball to play through. Our round took 4 hours 25 minutes which was too long for my liking.
The whole rhing left me a touch disappointed as I do really like the course so don’t want to rule out playing there again but I think i’d try other places before giving it another go.
Encouraging
The course was using temporary tees which was unfortunate but the number of temporary greens was disappointing.
A really nice course, challenging for all levels, definitely worth a visit but more consideration needs to be given to the information given to the golfer. Gtpreat course though!
Course could be better
I thought the recent warm dry weather would have meant the Old course would be in perfect condition but alas not, lots of bare mud lies, lots of tree leaves meant hunting for balls. The staff were first class though from catering to Pro shop
Winter golf
Played the course today and overall, a very enjoyable experience. A few temp greens and tees but it wasn't too bad. Probably a bit pricey (£25) for the number of temps and those greens that were on weren't top notch.
However, it's a great track and always enjoyable. Will definitely return. Recommended.
