Great Experience all round.
Couldn't fault anything, Nice course, Great condition, Unbelievable value for money, weather surprising for October, Would recommend to everyone.
Hilly course with absolutely superb greens and stunning views
Weather was stunning - blue sky and sun and 22 celsius. Best thing about the course is definitely hte hand built USGA greens - very quick and run completely true - ball stops quickly on well hit approach shots. Fairways weren't great in that they were cracked but that's due to the weather i guess. Hilly course but quite compact and the views are incredible. £15 on a Saturday afternoon was a bargain and there are a couple of cracking holes with features such as ponds and lakes and we had the whole clubhouse outside cheering as we putted on the 18th as it was Open day - missed a 30 foot birdie putt by milimetres much to their delight!!
Would recommend playing it in summer.
Lovely course with some beautiful views of the reservoir
This really is a little Gem of a course.
Beautifully maintained with some stunning views.
The greens are really well managed and play true.
Hilly in areas so a buggy for anyone that might struggle with that would be advised.
We walked and didn’t find it too difficult.
A must play course
Birthday
Excellent course with fantastic views challenging holes.greens fast and tricky.great value but would advise to use a buggy as
It’s a very hilly in places.
Stunning views
Wonderful course. Played on a Sunday afternoon almost had the course to ourselves. Course in great condition. Greens a little slow but with the baking sunshine only to be expected.
Great course but hilly
the course is very hilly, need Buggy Hire :)) next time for me:))
Very hilly, but very worth it.
An exceptional course unlike most other courses out there. It is very up and down with quite a few blind shots. But if that puts you off get a buggy....it is worth it. The course is extremely well tended and a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Just when you think you have played the courses feature hole another one appears, Amazing. The views all around the course area stunning. Speaking to one of the people who own the course his pride came shining through....this is not a surprise. Don't worry about what you will shoot, leave your ego at home and enjoy an absolute delight of a course. You will pay more money for inferior courses. LOVED IT.
Superb course, great views
Real testing course with fast greens and fab views. Course will only get better as weather improves in next few weeks. A bit hilly but still recommend to one all.
Excellent greens
Quality golf course with superb greens and a great price!
Usk
The greens were brilliant as usual, love Woodlake Pk... and a green fee of £16 is wonderful value
Course Review
The course was in superb condition, it had some challenging holes but overall an ideal course which suited my style of play the green's were the most challenging part of the course but i really enjoyed the challenge of them.
I would highly recommend this course for anyone looking for a challenge i will be playing again soon.
Lovely Course with great views on a nice day
It was one of the hottest days of the year when we played at Woodlake Park. The course is well off the beaten track, down a succession of single track lanes, but is well worth the effort.
Had some lunch in the clubhouse before playing, and sat overlooking the 18th green with views the reservoir and hills. The bar staff were welcoming as was the professional in the club shop
It's well worth buying a course planner if playing for the first time, as there are some unusual twists to the first couple of holes amongst others. For the first six holes you gradully climb to the highest point of the course, affording lovely views over Lllnadegfedd Reservoir. The 7th is a par 3 with the green about 100 feet below the tee. Not surprsingly hte 8th is straight back up one of the steepest hills on a golf course I've faced!
The second nine is very nice too, and the course benefits someone who plots there way around rather than someone who takes a driver on most holes that they can.
All in all a top course
Great course
Arrived at the course and went straight onto 1st tee no queuing, did not get held up all way round , fantastic setting, wonderful views , greens fantastic all be it a bit fast but that was because it's been so dry , fairways great , all in all a well kept and very nice course
Supeb
A beautiful course in a wonderful location. The greens are tricky to read, so makes you think about your putting and they're very quick it's easy to putt off of some of the greens as they are upturned saucers. But they are true if when you find the line.
It's a hard walk so if mobility is an issue get a buggy. Because of the hills you will get a lot of up/down hill lies. You will need to play this course several times to work out where you need to be as there are a fair few blind shots. Well worth every penny. Would be a member here if I lived close enough.
Great course
Really enjoyed playing this course for the first time. The whole time my friend are I were there staff and members were welcoming and friendly.
The course was in brilliant condition for this time of year and even though the greens were soft the pace of them was fantastic.
I'd recommend this course to players of all abilities.
I will definitely be returning here soon
