Excellent as usual
Course is in such good condition, had another lovely round there - when of the hidden jewels of south Wales!
Good day on the course
Super friendly staff and members, great layout course was in good condition and the greens were a pleasure.
Superb days golfing.
Nice course
A nice course this. Layout a bit tricky but course was in good condition and greens were fantastic
Nice 18 hole with stunning scenery.
Very friendly and welcoming club house.
I think next time I need a buggy lol...
There is a dress code....
Polo top and trousers or tailored shorts.
Fairways are in good condition, the ground was a bit hard so ball was running, greens are running fast, but still a little sandy. Only down side still teeing off mats.
Great!
I had a great time playing here. Course was lovely, fairways and greens in excellent condition. There was nobody in front or behind me so managed to complete all 18 holes in 3 hours.. The lady in the office was nice and met a couple of helpful locals. Will defo return again to play.
Chris at Bargoed
It was a very pleasing experience to play golf at Bargoed.
Great views from top of course.
The course is well laid out with some challenging holes, it is a fairly easy walking course and in the summer when it is in the best condition it is a joy to play. The greens are immaculate albeit a little firm with frost on our day.
Bargoed
First time playing here. Bit difficult to find as it's not signposted nor was the postcode in my sat nav. Office was deserted but open so I grabbed a scorecard. We'd payed online. Nice course, fairways were great and far better drained than anywhere else I've played recently. The course is on top of a hill but stays on the top so pleasantly flat. Three temporary greens in play, possibly due to the frost on shady grass. About two thirds way around my distance watch lost the plot. Asked a green keeper and he said they change the hole layout from summer to winter regularly. So don't rely on your watch. Locals were friendly and helpful. Finished round at 3.30 but clubhouse was like the Marie Celeste so no chance of food, beer, coffee. An enjoyable day of golf though.
Cracking little course
Despite the rain, a really cracking little course! Couldn’t get in the bar so can’t comment.
Best value course in Golf Now
I am a member of cottrell park in cowbridge and recently played the Celtic Manor courses, The Vale Resort courses and Bryn Meadows. I can honestly say none of the above courses are in better condition than Bargoed. In fact Bryn meadows was very disappointing and never worth the ridiculous amount they ask for they’re very substandard greens. The only thing the other courses have over Bargoed are amenities. If we are only judging on golf course alone then Bargoed is up there with Celtic Manor and Cotterill park and that’s the biggest compliment I can give.
Royal Bargoed
Always a pleasure to play here. Not a long course, but every hole is different, greens fantastic. Front 9 can play quite linksy in the summer months, with the back 9 more parkland. If you can find a hor deal then this is without doubt the best value for money 18 holes about.
Course on fantastic condition. Great value
Had a lovely game of golf the cpurse is in great condition and is good value for a cheap day out. Only negatives are the lack of a practice putting green. Great layout aswel
Overall really good course
Played in mid January, all 18 holes playable.
Greens in really good condition considering the time of year, looking forward to returning
A bit slow
Loads of 4 balls on the course with very little thought for anyone else. They were there to play at their pace, and no interest in calling anyone through. Shame, as this is normally a friendly course with thoughtful members, must have just caught it on a bad day. Gave up after 9 holes.
Bargoed golf
The course is in very nice condition. It never rains when I play there !
Not a great course
Arrived to a rather frosty welcome, no pro shop, bar closed, no trolley or buggy available. The course was in good condition but the layout has lots of overlapping holes which felt a bit dangerous. We booked to play 18 but due to slow play left after 9
