Lovely course but tee boxes could be better maintained
Great layout for a course with some interesting holes making you think off the tee. Greens and fairways were kept in very good condition but the tee boxes were not at the same standard.
A group of 4 juniors jumped in front on no.10 and refused to let us through. Extremely slow play for the back 9 as a result. The 4 young men had no etiquette on the course and I would be very angry if I was a member.
Course was good. Pace of play was a disgrace
Course was in good condition. Staff were friendly. Pace of play was a disgrace. 3 hours to play 9 holes. No marshals
Fantastic Golf Course
This beautiful in the nature integrated Golf Course is one of the most beautiful Golf Courses i have ever played. Everything is just here. In any case recommended.
Lovely course, but what’s going on with the layout??
3-ball, played early on Sunday morning and apart from a few members playing the medal, the course was empty, literally nobody there.
It’s a nice challenging course but the layout is a mess. They’ve changed holes and directions (not sure why) but not updated any gps info so you never really know where you’re going or what your yardage is.
Of course I get that gps tech is new, but most people use it now, so those gps systems should’ve been updated before the course reopened - or at the very least detail the old hole number at the new tee box so we could at least know yardage.
A very modern day problem, but there you go.
Great layout. Great value for money
We have played this course 3-4 times now and it is definitely one to visit regularly. Picturesque with great views and mature trees are plenty. Course is in superb condition with well manicured greens and fairways. Course is a fair test and very enjoyable. It represents good value for money as it has the look and feel of a more expensive resort type course. My only criticism is that there is not enough sand in the bunkers. Definitely one for anyone’s list of courses to play in Ireland
Rathsallagh
Course was in pretty good shape overall.Bunkers not great but it is the middle of winter. Overall good value for€23.For that price I will definitely return.
This course has great variety
Generous fairways with lovely views of the peaceful countryside. Course is in good condition but some of the tee boxes are in need of attention. There is great variety over the 18 holes and course is suitable for an intermediate golfer.
Great course
Greens and fairways amazing conditioning but the tea boxes look like they have been burnt badly.
Augusta of West Wicklow
Greens are difftenrt gravy man - quick and smooth, it's all one wants. Killeen is without a doubt the best course I have played in the Kildare area - The Augusta of Kildare , rewarding and challenging, the perfect mix for a golf course
Rathsallagh
A bit disappointed with the fact all the greens had been sanded. I’m not sure the new arrangement of playing the course is any better.
Top class golf course.
Top class golf course and was in perfect condition when I played. Super layout in a great location, very helpful staff and i would highly recommend to my friends and can't wait to play there again.
Great Course
The course is in fantastic condition, greens are fast but true. The 6th and 16th holes are very challenging when the wind is into you as it always seems to be. I've played this course a few times and find in very enjoyable, the 18 holes is a good finishing hole. The course definitely favours a draw! I carry my bag and while its a long course its not a problem at all.
disgraceful
course is a disgrace have never played a game on a course in such bad condition(a field with bad greens)grass had not been cut chicken wire on greens weeds in the bunkers and when i complained staff were in no way helpful.a bad experience to say the least.
Not what it was, but still one of my favourite layouts
Played Rathsallagh in glorious early June weather, although windy. The fairways were hairy and the greens remarkably soft and slow, although the layout (with mature trees etc) is still fantastic. The condition of the fairways & greens made little difference to my enjoyment of the game, but the rough was another matter. A ball in the rough meant a lost ball, almost no matter where it happened. This was annoying. Overall, very good value for the €16 I paid, but I wouldn't be keen to pay a lot more. BTW, no clubhouse facilities on my visit.
Trevor Dunne
Played on Good Friday and weather wise the best day of the year. Course was in good nick, some tough holes and pin placements seemed to be tucked away in corners so played hard, overall thouroughly enjoyed the course, playing mid summer with trees in full bloom would make it a gem. Some long walks between holes, bit with the weather the way it was I didn't have a car in the world.
superb parkland
I love this course. Played here already more than 10 times and always want to come back again.
One of the Best..
This has to be one of the best golf courses in Ireland. Beautiful setting, good combination of playable and difficult holes, super greens. This is a championship course on a par with neighbours -the K Club or Tulfarris.
Round of golf was followed by great food in the clubhouse.
Will definitely return on a regular basis.
Long excellent memorable parklands course
Hire a buggy!!!! Exceptional maintained & typical parkland course that is long, all holes protected by bunkers, excellent rolling greens, tight tee shots at times with the trees growing in both sides. Bunkers lack of sand & stony being the only minus point. Amazed we couldnt keep up in a buggy with the spritely pensioners in front!!!! The smell of BBQ steaks coming up the 18th as the sunset completed a highly enjoyable late afternoons golf. NB Beware of the cars entering via the course to the country house and the long walk to the 11th tee - the card is a bit misleading.
