Trappers Turn Golf Club - Canyon/Arbor
About
The 27 holes of championship golf at Trappers Golf Club are spread across the rolling countryside of Wisconsin Dells, a landscape that was carved by glaciers thousands of years ago. The terrain provided an incredible canvas for course designers Andy North and Roger Packard to work with. They first designed 18 holes, the Canyon and Lake nines and then added the Arbor nine in 2000. The golf courses can be played as three different 18-hole combinations. The Canyon/Arbor Course combines the old and the new. The Canyon is home to Trappers Turn's signature hole, the par-3 seventh, which has an extreme drop in elevation into a small green that sits amidst a glacier-formed canyon but it is not as intimidating a hole as it seems. The scenery continues onto the Arbor nine, which borders the Rocky Arbor State Park.

Great 1st Experience
My buddy and I, along with our family, stayed overnight in Wisconsin Dells. The family decided to get park passes so I started to search via Golf Now to see if there were any deals in the area. Turned out to be a very good choice as we choose Trappers Turn.
We played Arbor/Lakes. We were greeted by a young man who took our bags and placed them on the carts while we checked in. Had no problem with the check-in process. We were allowed to tee off before our Hot-Deals time. A start checked us in and we were off. Greens were rolling true and fairways were a little wet from rain the day before. It was cart path only so we didn't get to utilize the gps to our content. Course layout was challenging so you had to be precise with your tee shots. Good thing we played from the Blue tees and not the Gold. We enjoyed the challenges of all the holes.
Nice rainy day
Between rain, play stopped, and rain again, I managed to have a good 18 hole round at a beautiful golf course. Top notch club, large clubhouse, valet bag drop off, GPS carts, the whole nine yards.
Only interaction with staff were the bagboys and the ranger, who were all pretty cool guys.
The price got me to the golf course. I think I need to get my game in shape a bit to warrant the $60-$70 green fee that is the usual. But I had a great day!
Vacation in Wisconsin
Really enjoyed this beautiful well manicured Golf Course
Excellent condition!
This is an excellent golf course and was in excellent condition. I played the Arbor/Lakes course with 2 men from Texas attempting to play in all 50 states. We played the round in three hous and 15 minutes.
STAFF IS VERY RUDE!!
I was on vacation purchasing a property nearby, I always wanted to play
trappers turn. I booked a hot deal on golf now for 1:42PM, I was running a little behind
& arrived 10 Minutes before my tee time due to the fact my closing took longer then expected. I greeted the young gentlemen in the clubhouse & he just gave me a head
nod. He then said your on the tee box with the 2-some, I explained my situation to him & asked if I could warm up at the range then tee-off ( keep in mind it's Sunday afternoon at 2pm & its drizzling rain about to thunder storm) no joke, the course was empty.
He looked at me all crabby & replied " NO YOU GOT A HOT DEAL"
Why offer golf now deals if this is how you treat customers?
I could understand if the course was packed on a beautiful day,
but the place was empty! I just left the course & never played my round.
I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Trappers Turn Outing
Love the course. Wish we lived closer! And got a good deal for 18 holes with cart thanks to Golf Now. Clubhouse employee was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!!! Bar staff was ok but could have been more personable! Overall a good day of golf and hope to return again soon!!
Great Deal with Golf Now
I got a great deal on golf now with a 'hot deal' and went out to play Trappers. Easy check-in at the desk, friendly personnel. Grabbed a golf cart, hit a few at the range, and went on my way to play. Mind you there was basically no one out there. I played Arbor/Lake. Greens were still suffering from the hole-punching but they werent too bad. Fairways were very nice as were the tee boxes. Overall a decent layout and good time, and a great value for the money.
windy
great course but very windy and the slowest round I've had all year; would have liked a senior tee box
Trapper's Turn is a "Must Play"
I played early in the morning on a cool fall day and had never been to Trapper's Turn before.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I almost got a hole in one and the greens were some of the best I have played on all year.
I would definitely golf here again.
A great challenging course with a great view
Haven't played the course in about 5 yrs. and it is still all what I remembered. The only negative thing that I have is on the canyon course is that one of the par 3 greens was pretty beat up but they are working on it but still playable. Other than that the course will give you all you can handle.
This course has great greens
Great course. Well groomed. Greens run true. Love the view around the lake.
Excellent Experience
Played for the first time recently. I must say, this was one of the better experiences I've ever had golfing. The staff was one of the friendliest I've ever met. Pricing on beverages and food was reasonable for the quality of course that Trappers Turn is. Speaking of the course, immaculate shape. I am very glad I took a chance and experienced it. Definitely returning!
Great mix of holes
Wonderful mix of golf holes, par 3s from 125 to 170. Par 4s from 300 to over 400. With trouble enough for bogies or worse on all of them. Interesting greens also with subtle breaks making speed of your putts important.
Won't be back
No service at at bag drop, even to "clean" clubs at the end. Rude staff at desk-told us we have to tee off right on time and to play quickly because the course is full. No mention of thanks for coming or the balls are on the range or enjoy the course. The starter was more interested in telling people that his grandfather "plays" for the Packers even tho everyone else knows he won't be there come fall and how a Rottweiler would come after usIf we didn't play in 4:15.
We played the first 9 under 2 hours and while we were on 14, the rude guy from the clubhouse came out to tell us that we would have to slow down as we would now be jammed behind an outing with a shotgun start. When one of objected to how they handled their customer service, he blamed us by saying that we were 35 minutes fast.
Beverage cart on 2nd and 18th holes.
Greens are so hard, we could only bump and run from way before the greens.
Needless to say we didn't get lunch or but anything in the pro shop.
Trappers Turn use to be a favorite of mine, but this is the 2nd time in a row that I've had incredibly poor service. Kahlahari won't miss my $, but Wild Rock is the better, friendlier course.
Nice course
Interstate noise was pretty bad on a couple of holes. I was pretty much the only one out there so I can't say much about pace. Nice GPS in the carts and the course was in good shape. I'll definitely go back.
on the road
When I started there was two three sum's of woman ahead of me. The ranger was very helpful and let me tee off on #2 ahead them. From there on know waiting. And was able to come back and play #1 . very enjoyable afternoon will play again.
In great condition
Course was in great shape, staff was friendly, was first one off so pace of play was good for me.
Trappers Turn Lake/Canyon
Afternoon play around 3pm 18 holes: Not many people on the course this afternoon. My wife and I completed play in 3 hours 15 minutes. Course from blue tees is challenging especially with firm greens which was the case today. Overall course in very good shape and staff was helpful and friendly. Recommend.
Gorgeous Course, Great Staff, Highly Recommend!
I have golfed this course several times and never fail to be impressed both by the course itself, and the staff. My fiancee' does not golf, but likes to ride along, and the staff is always accommodating of that. They always get us out fast, attend to any of our needs or questions, and are extremely friendly and professional, especially Angel. The course is like a postcard with scenic views in every direction. It is a challenging course, but still very doable for the amateur like myself. Aces all the way!
Great course
This was the first time playing trappers and we had a great time. The course was in great condition.
