White Eagle Golf Club
About
Nestled within the North Woods, White Eagle Golf Club is surrounded by woodlands and wetlands that are home to an abundance of native wildlife. Carved from the hillsides surrounded the St. Croix River Valley, the scenic course is enveloped in a secluded tranquility that is the ideal setting for a relaxing round. The layout utilizes the features of the rolling terrain, creating a test that is challenging but fair. Mature trees frame the course as it winds across the landscape's natural slopes and elevations. Golfers should expect a few tricky uneven lies as well as some hard-to-read greens. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides as well as a few water hazards. Water most memorably comes into play on the finishing hole, where a waterfall provides the perfect aiming point.

Nice big Course
nearly 7200 from the tips. although it was set up to play about 6900. greens were fast and firm but would hold a ball that came in high pretty well. Greens were moderatly quick. It will help to play this coures a couple times to know where not to hit it. Good size greens without too much undulation rewards a good shot. I fond a couple tee shots to be a little bit wonky. Big elevation changes occasionaly require precision off the tee. Very fun track! must play.
great course
the course is somewhat long but wide open faireways & in great condition.
White Eagle
Tight fairways on some holes. Par 3's mostly the same distance. Very large greens. Bunkers at strategic places. Nice Course.
Great Course!
This is one of my favorite courses in the Twin Cities/Western Wisconsin area. Great layout, very well taken care of, beautiful scenic holes, and greens are some of the truest around. A must play course!
Review
One of my favorite course to play anywhere. Always in great shape. And friendly staff

nice track a few kinky holes but all around very nice, nicely groomed great sites and great greens.
White Eagle Golf Club
When we asked a staff member what to expect of the course, her response was "fun but challenging," and I have to agree with that statement.
The course has character and many options to approach each hole. While heavily tree lined off of the fairway, that still are options for misplaced tee shots; however, well placed shots will provide opportunities to attack the greens.
One thing of note from a first timer playing this course was some of the severe undulations of many of the holes, most notably is "Staircase", which is a dogleg left par 5 that goes both downhill of the tee and back uphill toward the green.
As a twosome, we were able to play our first round in 3 hours, which gave us time to take advantage of an all day rate and play another 18 holes.
Great Course
This course was really fun to play. Lots of hills and its laid out really well. The course and greens were in very god shape.
Rainy day Golf
Nice course a little soggy and some sand traps were washed due to a wet couple of weeks. We enjoyed a wet but pretty quick round of golf as not many people golfing in the rain. Will go back when it drys out and can enjoy a dry day of golf. The Staff and reastraunt personnel were very friendly. The golf cart had a GPS, ball and club washer and were very quiet.
Beautiful course
The is in a beautiful setting and was in great shape. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It was a very enjoyable round of golf.
white eagle review
If you don't mind a bit of a drive from the cities, this course is excellent. Very much feels like northern mn golf. Course was in very good condition. Good mix of holes and a lot of tee box options to tailor to your skill level. I will definitely be back.
Nice Course, played on a windy day
Real nice course that is very challenging. GPS in the cart really helps with approach shots and avoiding hazards. Overall the course is in great shape. I really enjoyed the round at white eagle, the weather was real windy and chilly for June, but the scenic views and course conditions make up for it. Food was decent, service was pretty solid in the club house.
One of my favorites
Hard to find a more beautiful setting and more picturesque holes so close to the metro. This is my new favorite course for the metro area - incredible value.
Good Value - Very Good Course
White Eagle is a very good course. The greens (May 2014) were in excellent shape. The grass in the fairways was cut a little higher than I am used to in the mid-Atlantic region. The winter of 2014 was long and cold. As a result, White Eagle experienced some "freezer burn" on some areas in the fairways. It was clear that the grounds staff was working to repair these areas and by mid-summer, the fairways will likely be in fantastic shape. I highly recommend White Eagle to any golfer who wants a good value for their money.
Beautiful, Challenging Course
This course provides a real North Woods feel just a few minutes from the Twin Cities. Elevation changes, undulating fairways, and fast greens. For a senior golfer, the carries required from the white tees on a few holes may be a bit too much.
End of year so greens longer than normal but usually great. coupon deal saved 60+%
Fairways for November very nice. Played there before and enjoy the scenery and challenge of the course. Leaf control was very good. nice quiet electric carts with gps very nice. i highly recomend
Very challenging course, well kept greens.
This is a course I would play again providing they keep putting deals out there for the public to use, otherwise it's a bit much for that course when there are surrounding courses for a little less. It is very challenging with narrow fairway shots heading into the greens. It will test your putting skills as there are no flat greens in which your faced with some kind of hilly putt or angled hole location. You will use your big clubs here and be tested with you irons. The only small issue I had was I never saw the cart girl but one time and this was at the club house just before we tee'd off, so I would suggest grabbing a few from the bar before heading out. Please if you get the chance to play it take advantage of it, I never got the chance to eat there or enjoy a few at their bar so enjoy that as well. Oh yeh hit them straight or you are in for a long day.
Challenging and Scenic: You, the Course and Nature
This course is somewhat on the pricey end of the scale, but with golfnow.com was very affordable. Nice course carved out of the woods, but the trees come into play on a non-intrusive sort of way, with fairly generous landing areas. First hole is least favorite, requiring a fairly long carry to the pin even with a decent drive. The fairways were in very nice shape, but beware of the tough, gnarly rough. Greens were somewhat disappointing: They held incoming shots fairly well and were fast, but the numerous marks on the greens detracted from otherwise nice surfaces. Could have been very walkable, but long runs from green to tee made a cart almost mandatory. Loved the GPS on the carts!
Tough course
Very nice course. I would not recommend for high handicappers. A yardage book would be nice too. GPS is good for distance to hole. Very often I needed yardages I did not have and it cost me in strokes. Staff was great!
wow.. never seen such a big course
this is just awesome golf course. don't even think about walking 18 holes on this course, you will be exhausted. this is built in such a massive area even on cart feels like going for a long ride between each holes.. this course is very pricy compare to others but it is well maintained and beautiful course. u gotta have thick pocket to play here often...
