The Castle Course at Northern Bay Resort
About
The Castle Course at Northern Bay gives you the unique opportunity to play some of golf's greatest holes all in one place. This championship course features seven holes that are replicas of the most famous holes of seven different PGA Tour courses, including Augusta National and Bay Hill. It is the only golf course of its kind in the Midwest. Besides the replicas, the other 12 holes on the course all have unique and challenging designs that are just as interesting. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and water hazards also come into play frequently. The signature hole is the par-3 10th, which is the replica of no. 17 on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, a hole known primarily for its island green. The Castle Course's replica was voted one of the best par-3 holes in Wisconsin.

Great Condition
Greens and fairways true. Perfect course for those looking for a challenge also for the average golfer.
Poor condition
GPS system came from Pirates Cove Mini golf in the Dells. Never had one that poor.
Grass on fairways was hard to find. Worst condition I have encountered this year. For the price, plenty of goat pastures in better condition..
Go to Trappers Turn or Christmas Mountain. Both are superior condition to Northern Bay.
Visually pleasing and challenging holes.
Played with friends for the fifth or sixth time. Fairways were in poor condition. Grass was short and sparse; shots landing in the fairway got good roll, but hitting ball on the fairway was like playing it off hard-packed dirt.
Fortunately we had half-price coupons for our round. If we had to pay full price green fees, we would have felt ripped off.
course in poor condition
i expected more, better conditions 5 star not 1 star
Great layout. Non replica and replica holes are great
One of the most enjoyable courses you can play. A ton of fun.
Great views - very enjoyable!
We played on a Monday - not busy at all. All of the staff encouraged us to have a great round. Excellent practice facility. Greens were pristine and ran true - very few ball marks. Only drawbacks - no beverage cart on the day we played and there are not many water dispensers on course and cart gps didn't always agree with course yardage markers and my gps. We payed $70 for unlimited golf (played 36) - definitely worth $70 for 18. Take a cart, since the distance between tees can be quite lengthy.
Recognized every "copycat" hole except Northern Bay's version of Azalea (#13 at Augusta National).
Fun course to play that is well maintained, little pricy if you don't find a special.
Not only are the replica holes fun to play, but so are the other holes. For being an "up north" course the fairways and rough are wide enough where you won't lose too many balls. Greens are well maintained and putt true. I would recomend for any true golf fan.
Scenic course. Good shape for early in the season.
Friendly staff behind and counter and club cleaners. Course was in good shape for early in the season. Scenic course with variety of holes. Pace of play was good, Last time we played it was a weekend in the summer and the pace of play was exceedingly slow - hence we were pleased. Recommend the course to others.
Nice Layout!
Replica holes are nice with #10 island green the best of all. #18 (Bay Hill finishing hole) is also a nice/challenging test. Fun course...nice layout.
this course has great features
a fun, well kept course, friendly staff, very helpful
Great Place to Play
I have to start with the replica holes. I really enjoyed playing those holes and thought they were in great shape. I could play them over and over again and I will as I plan on coming back to play it again. Playing holes like those and having things such as GPS carts made for a great day.
Play here and you will never forget it!
This course is mind blowing!!! The course was in great condition and the fairways and greens were all just perfect. The greens were lightning making them fun and a challenge! But overall, just HOLE 10! The most intimidating hole i have ever played in my life, and one I will never forget. I made the green on the first shot which I was proud of. This course allows you to get the PGA experience at a fraction of the cost! I recommend this course to anyone, and I have seen it on golf now for 25 dollars a person! I believe we are returning next summer for a Wisconsin Dells trip with my golfing buddies from high school and the main thing they want to do is play this course!
When you go you get unlimited rage balls and then you start and have a massive gps on the cart which tells you the distance to any point you want. It is an amazing golf experience!
