Westchester Golf Course
About
Westchester Golf Course is known for its playability, which is further enhanced by five sets of tees that accommodate all skill levels. There are six lakes throughout the course and numerous waste areas filled with wildflowers and native grasses but sand is a more prominent element of the design. There are more than 75 bunkers treacherously lurking beside the greens and fairways. Golfers who manage to avoid the bunkers will find that a good score can definitely be attained thanks to generously sized fairways and only mild undulation in the greens. Although it is seemingly difficult, the layout is more approachable than it looks although it does require straight, accurate shots and a bit of strategy. In addition to the course, Westchester G.C. also offers an expansive practice range and putting green.

The course layout is fun for all golfers
Would have been less expensive if I would had booked tee time as a senior player, would have saved a few more BUCKS over booking through Golf Now
Round of golf
The greens were perfect, well manicured and green in color. The overall condition of. The course was excellent. The pace of play was perfect and the round of golf was a pleasant experience. I would recommend this course to anyone.
This course is good for all levels
i really enjoy playing at Westchester. It's an hour drive, but well worth it. Great staff, good up keep on the course. Challenging but not a difficult course to play. It will be even better once the new clubhouse is open.
Terrible Shape
For this time of year I was very surprised to see how bad of shape it was in. I typically play this course 1/2 dozen times a year and this is the worst I have seen it in years.Dont get me wrong it's still decent but fairways have bald spots, tee boxes were tore up and and greens were all peppered with ball marks and dimples. I hope to see this course back in the shape it used to be in but for now, not worth the prices they are asking.
Nice layout
Like course lay out. Not in best shape but with all bad weather this year not bad. would be nice if golfers would fix ball marks on green.over all will play again. Hopefully new club house will be completed.
Decent course, poor management.
We were started off the back 9 and didn't see a soul the whole time but when we made the turn there were 4 groups on #1. The pro shop allowed groups to go off the front and completely screwed everyone else making the turn. We played one hole in 20 minutes and had to quit. No rain check or rain check offered by the negligent pro shop. I won't be back.
Wash Out / Disappointed
Played this course on several prior occasions and it has always been in good shape and made for an enjoyable round. This time was a little different. Tees were spotty and chewed up. Fairways were hard as concrete (hard to believe with all the rain we've had).
Greens were bumpy and appeared to have some sort of disease. My group was scheduled to play 18 but had to stop due to a storm that came through but were considering leaving after 9 anyhow due to conditions of the course.
Greens need work
I really love Westchester, that being said the greens are full of pot marks from golfers who do not respect the sport. Really brings a course down when the greens are full of holes. Fairways are hard so your drives roll a mile. Hoping to see the new clubhouse open soon so your food choices are more than peanut butter crackers or a snickers bar.
Not a bad course for the money
Overall the course was in pretty decent shape considering our recent weather. Greens were patchy in spots, but aside from that everything else was pretty good. Worth playing for $30 or less.
emphasis is on the new clubhouse being finished
For the amount of rain we have had course was pretty dry and we got roll. Greens held very well but were a little slow for my liking. Nice range and practice green.
Course in Good Shape
Course was in good shape. Not as wet as we thought it would be after all the rain.
Great staff!
Well Done!
Given the rainy weather, the course was in super shape. We were permitted to have carts with 90º rule. Starter let us go early because no one else was on the tee in the morning. New clubhouse is nearing completion. Pro Shop is currently running out of the cart barn.
Solid all around
Solid course, fairly easy if you stay around the fairways and greens, good prices on golfnow, friendly staff.
Good Couse
Course it was good to have been clean and maintenance. In addition, staff is also good, I was able to comfortably play.
Quality course and management
I played on a gusty wet Saturday evening, but the course held up despite taking a lot of water over the last few days. The "clubhouse" mgr. showed a welcome commitment to customer service by not turning me away even though I booked through golfnow, was supposed to pay the fee at the course, and forgot my wallet! I've sent payment in the mail and it was well worth it.
Nice play
Rain predicted but didn't happen so pace of play was excellent. Nice layout, greens in really good shape...not too fast, not too slow. Players need to repair fairway divots. Nice course
Quality
Pace of play can be an issue, but they have had Rangers lately and it has helped, usually can get a round for around 25 through the app, well worth it, new club house soon, nice staff, a fun and pretty course.
Finally, decent greens!
I have played Westchester a lot over the years but over the past two years not nearly as much. One big reason were the conditions of the greens. They always seemed beat up a lot. However, the greens were in very good shape this time, which was the first time I played this course since spring of last year. They were slow, but the rolled nicely. Plus they are building a new clubhouse there. Finally getting rid of the doublewide. May head out there again really soon. Oh, one other note. They actually had some nice starters and rangers out there who, get this, actually ride around to ensure that pace of play is moving steadily. That seems to be something most other courses have forgotten about.
