A Hidden Gem
Diamond Springs is a surprisingly nice track hidden away in the farm country southeast of GR. I enjoyed the layout which meandered around a large ravine and cut through some woods and fields. Conditions were good and the fairway tee boxes were fine. If it weren't for slow play in front of us, it would have been a real solid experience.
Good and not good.
Pace of play is painful but that’s well known with this course. Bring your own food/snakes and alcohol. They have minimal stuff.
Fall day at the course
This is my favorite course in SW Michigan. Always well maintained and green, even in the driest summers. Only drawback is lack of or limited food items. They used to do burgers in a kitchen area up above the clubhouse, but I haven’t seen that in a few years...maybe i just go at the wrong time. I have heard some say they didn’t care for the tee boxes, as they appear to be part of the fairway.
I also love there are really no houses located on it, and it is pretty remote....there is one located on the front nine, and that appears to be it....LOVE this course though!!!
First time at this course
Got a good deal on golf now and play the full 18
With cart included for $40. Weather was great the fairways were well-maintained and the greens were beautiful. Back nine was a little slow with a few foursomes ahead of us but played with another gentleman who was fun. I will play here again If I’m ever near Hamilton Michigan.
Always Enjoy DS
Third round this season at DS.
Two main issues: Slow play and no alcohol. Can't do much about slow play but you can BYOB, just need to conceal it. I don't think they care if you bring it as long as you don't flaunt it.
Current conditions place a premium on accurate drives. If you go left or right, you will be searching for your ball, which contributes to the slow play.
This is a great course with nice folks.
Wonderful
Diamond Springs is one of the nicest courses I've ever played for the money. The scenery is great, it is well kept up in all areas, and it's challenging. It definitely rewards accurate shots. The rough is deep here. I loved my day here even though I didn't play well and I'll definitely come back.
Excellent Course, Excellent Staff Friendliness
If you want to golf a course in excellent condition and staff friendliness beyond compare...Diamond Springs is for you! Did a round midday and just had a great experience.... Jim H. behind the counter is so friendly and accommodating....course was in impeccable shape and play for 18 was about 3.5 hours. The last few holes are the toughest....avoid the bunkers at all costs...and then there are the Ravines! Anyway, we enjoyed the round and recommend this course to all level of players!
Home or the 2-some.
Pace of play can be an issue. Expect a longer round. We had a bunch of 2-soles behind us. We let two through but after that stopped. We told the third group no and they can partner up with twosome behind them. They were upset. We didn’t care. Not sure why they don’t pair them up.
You do have to bring your ow.ln booze just be sure to hide it they don’t allow it on course.
Beautiful course
Enjoyed the course. We were tired and needed to leave after nine holes. The golf course would have given us a raincheck if we hadn't booked on Golf Now. Their system would not allow it.
Local Best
Always enjoy Diamond Springs! Great layout for community course. Tee selection critical to desired challenge.
Frustrated that spring rates at course were lower than GolfNow. That needs to change.
Great shape
Course is in great shape. Play was a little slow, but weather was good. I wish they sold beer and had better food choices. Course is beautiful, staff friendly.I will definitely play again.
Very nice layout, in really good shape.
Nice course, facilities and staff. You cannot find a better value in the area. It's a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. A true woodland course with nothing but trees water and grass.
Can't beat it.
