A solid…..Not Bad
As a single I was a little disappointed that instead of letting me go out on my own (and course traffic was light), I was made to wait and join another threesome - all of whom were way better hitters than me. The course was in OK condition - there were muddy spots and most of the greens were bumpy. It’s a nice layout - mostly wide open. And the staff (including the two cats hanging around the putting green) were pleasant.
Good bones, greens and general fit and finish lacking.
2 "temporary" greens. All other greens are in serious need of refreshing. Place needs an infusion of cash.
Sunday Golf
Always love this course, fun track. Two temporary greens yesterday, but I understand they are re-opened today. Course conditions were ok, grass seems high, even in the fairway and tee boxes.
9/17
For $53 this course was not worth it. Pay a little more and get far better value somewhere else. The greens were in thought shape ball marks everywhere. Bumpy and had light patches on some holes. There were two holes where we didn’t play the green just played to a flag stick in the fairway lol. Yea literally! Pace a play was probably the most positive about the experience. Maybe got lucky for 2some 7:55am tee time but finished in 3 hours.
Rough conditions, not worth the cost
Course is in pretty bad conditions. The fairways are like rough. Most of the greens are in bad shape and 2 temporary greens on 5/6. We were behind a slow foursome the whole round and had a group behind us watching every shot because of the hold up. For $50 it was not worth the money. I hope they can get the course back in good shape and start spreading their tee times farther apart.
Horrible Condition
Called pro shop before making tee time to inquire about state of greens or recently punched greens, reply was no recent punching and course in great shape. On the contrary, every green was burned/bare on the edges and looked to be recovering from recent punching/maintenance and to top it off, there were “temporary” greens on holes number 5 & 6 which were spots mowed out in front of the greens about 30 to 40 yards before actual greens and putting on them was a joke to say the least. Course should not be charging full fee at this time and should be truthful/honest about condition of course when someone calls in!! By the way, they did have notices posted on the doors at the club about the damaged greens so that info could have been given over the phone!
Fair Warning
To be fair, Winston trails website had a an explanation for the condition of their greens, which have a problem with their Bermuda. grass. However, Golf Now did NOT. There should be a flag about this type of thing. All of the greens look crappy but they actually putt fairly. Two greens are closed & have temp greens. It’s not a bad course, but if your putting is your focus, I wouldn’t recommend WT right now.
Forgiving Fun course
It had been raining that night and morning, so it was cart path only. There were 2 holes whose greens were being re-seeded and therefore moved to the fairway. Beyond that, the course is wide and forgiving. Great length from the tees. Hazards were always in play. Greens and fairways were in great shape despite the weather.
Do not play
$40 for 9 holes while 2 of them are temp greens? Before the round the owner actually came over and was sure we brought our own beer… we bought it from the bar
GREEN HORRABLE BURT OUT ALSO USED TEMPORARY GREENS ON 3 HOLES
Terrible greens
They are redoing the 5th & 6th Greens but the rest of the greens were terrible.
Change your tee times!
I know it’s summer, but dang! Is the greens keeper on vacation right now? Couple temp greens and the rest of the greens were not good. Felt like I was putting out of the fringe while 2 feet from the hole. Course desperately needs to change their tee times. 7 minute tee times needs to be 10 at a minimum. We were delayed around 25-30min just from starting the round. Once out there, we got through 11 holes in 4 hours. Best thing today was the guy in the halfway house who had a solid dog. Really not worth the money at this time.
Disappointed to say the least. It’s absolutely insane to have tee times every 7 minutes, with the majority of the players who play here being high handicappers. Got through 12 holes as a two-some in 4 hours, this could be improved by pushing the tee times out to every 10-12 minutes to avoid backup on the course. I generally don’t leave reviews for courses, but I had to speak up on this because this is a real issue. Course conditions were average at best, I understand we have had a lot of rain, but there is no reason for the greens to be in that bad of shape. Won’t be playing here again until they change the tee time structure, overall a waste of time to be paying $54. If you like teeing off with 2 groups right behind you watching, this is the course for you.
I think when you signed up to play golf course station, let you know when this temporary greens in the greens are really not in great shape at all
When we signed up for the course, we should’ve been informed that there were three temporary greens, and the rest of the greens were pretty much ready to be ripped up
Garbage Conditions
For what they charge and the condition of the course, don’t waste your coin. It has potential to be a great course if they cleaned it up. Crab grass on fringes was ridiculous.
