Turn Around
What an excellent turn around this course is making!!! Had a blast with some buddies as the golf course is really starting to take shape with the overseed. Looks amazing and the greens are starting to roll better. Some holes are stuggling but I'm sure they will turn around as well. Would recommend this golf course in its current condition. Price was just right =)
Good fairways and tees
Most of the greens were of average speed. Only a few of the greens were not smooth with defects. Fairways and tees were well maintained.
Nice course but…
Really nice layout and friendly staff. However, the front 9 greens were in horrible shape. Back 9 greens were in better shape but just ok at best.
Don’t waste your $$$
Honestly, im not sure what was worse. From the tee boxes being nothing but sand hardly any grass, or the greens that may or may not have grass on them at all. This place would be fun if they cared about it. Sad
Aweful
Fairways and greens were terrible . I know they just arriated but this was not worth the time or money. Hopefully they will get their act together.
Major maintenance/renovation
Course has great potential but no one bothered to warn us of the nearly unplayable conditions. Aerated/plowed fairways and tee boxes then the greens had not mowed in weeks? With bare dirt patches on them. I sincerely hope that they are able to turn things around and survive but duping people into playing the course in current conditions doesn’t seem like a promising business model.
Horrible Conditions!
We used to golf here years ago & it was one of our favorites. The whole course has went downhill. We were so disappointed!! Some of the residential yards were in better shape than this course! The tee boxes hardly had any grass on them. The greens were shaggy with big patches of sand all over them leaving it almost impossible to putt. The fairways were mostly sand and scrub grass. This course needs some serious attention!! We felt like we should have been paid to play instead of paying for these horrible conditions. We do not recommend unless you want to waste your money.
Don’t Do it!
This corse is not worth the money. If staff had been forthcoming about the course condition we would not have played here!
Course is in terrible shape!
This course has been neglected, the tee boxes , fairways and greens are in terrible shape, appears that the owners are not watering the course. Save your money and go some place else to play your golf game because you will be disappointed if you play this course.
Love the location!
Fun course to play. They are working on the overall conditions. But a great value for the money
A great course, but wth problems.
I like Bluewater Bay and their staff is always friendly and professional, but had I known the course was in such bad shape, I would have played elsewhere. They have major irrigation problems and the greens have not recovered from their last punch.
Again, I like the layout and scenery around the course, but they will have to make a major recovery before I go back. It's a shame, actually because in past years, the course was one of my local favorites.
Let down by this course
I've been to this course several times over the years. Honestly, it has gone down hill. This course used to be in good condition but several of the greens were in very bad shape, along with the fairways. I was shocked when I saw the condition versus the condition in years past. This course has potential to be a good one. They used to have a unique layout with 3 9 hole courses but have closed one of the 9 hole courses so it has lost some of its luster. The staff was very friendly! If you are looking for a place to play where you don't have to wait, then play at Bluewater Bay. I hope they are able to update the course and get it back in better shape. The area around is being upgraded, so hopefully the course is on the list!
Don’t waste your time or money
This has to be the worst course I’ve ever played in my life. I never thought the course in the Bahamas could be beat as the “worst” course, but today it was over taken. Sad thing, the one in the Bahamas had suffered through a hurricane… this one has no excuses. First, we get there and they didn’t have us scheduled… this should have been a huge clue and we should’ve left. Next, no driving range, they had built houses where it had once been... Should’ve left. Next, we drive to the first tee… the tee boxes are a HOT mess (they have no grass and are all dirt!) when you look down the fairways the overall bones are great but then you realize they look like overgrown cow pastures. Some places the grass is dead and crunchy while other places it needs baling…when you approach the greens they are pitiful. They have crab grass, some other purple grass growing, dead spots, bare spots and sand on them. It became quite comical commentating about this experience. This golf course and playing condition is a total dumpster fire. There is no water on the course, cart girl, lawnmowers, sprinklers or a ground crew. Don’t waste 1 dime on this even if it’s free. Because your time isn’t!!!!
The greens were terrible
Course upkeep was subpar. Greens were aerated, brown, sandy and covered in weeds. Tee boxes sucked. Weeds all over the course. Eglin was better kept for half or less the price of this course.
Course on the Bay
For starters, the course does not have tee times earlier than 7:30. That is a major turn off during the summer when temperatures are pushing 100. Greens were super slow and bumpy. Putts did not roll true. There weee some pretty cool holes but it would definitely help to have played it before. The two par threes on the bay are a nice test in club selection. Overall, it is well worth the money when you don’t want to pay $179 over in Destin.
