Great course
Really enjoy the course, just would appreciate knowing when they punch and sand the greens. Still very playable but I hate paying full price when course is in less than stellar condition.
Great conditions
Course was in excellent condition and gloated very nice
Incredible Course
I love playing here it never disappoints. It is challenging for me as an average player. The only thing I would say is that the pin placement on the cards has not been right on any of the times I have played. So judge it for yourself and look at the groups ahead of you to see where they are at relative to the shape of the green and bunkers surrounding. All and all I love playing at blackhorse.
Great Golf Course
Nice design and good conditions. I would recommend to trim tee boxes a little bit more and maybe get greens a little bit faster.
Hot time at Blackhorse
June afternoon tee time in Htown are usually hot and humid. This didn't disappoint! Staff was great, got a safety meeting on hydration from the starter (Vince)!
GPS on the carts was very 'sensitive', carts shut down often, be aware of the blue stakes or (15 yards proximity)
The snack shack / bar at the turn was closed at 5p on a Friday? Luckily, the pace of play allowed for plenty of time to go the clubhouse bar.
Lots of foursomes playing from the blues that prob had no business on anything other than the Whites.
Nice, challenging track in great shape but Hot and SLOW
Great Coarse
Both courses at Wildcat are great! I think the Lakes course has a little better views. The course was in great shape. There were a few patches on the edge of 1 or 2 greens but it didn’t affect play. The group in front of us seemed like they were playing really slow but in the end we finished in just over 4 hours.
Great course for the money
I have played a good number of courses in the Houston area and this is the best one so far. The course is in great condition and the staff are very friendly. Very much would recommend this to anyone.
New carts with GPS are terrible
The golf carts have new GPS systems that are terribly calibrated. During the round the cart shut down about 20 times while we were driving on car paths or in normal territory on the fairway.
Groups
Too many 2 somes allowed had the pace of play really slow…
Group in front of us had 1 bag and May have been giving lessons…
Not sure if that was the hood up but the oace of play was ridiculous slow…
At hole 4 we had 4 groups on the hole !!!
Marshals just ride by and wave,
Busy course where carts are retar¥ed
We played the north course, which took nearly 6
Hours to play as course was chocker blocked. either don’t pack the course like sardines or get marshals to do their jobs. Marshals nowhere to be seen.
Carts are those smart carts that will switch off if you not in the area where you should be. So if you slice a ball and go searching be ready to push your cart or go in reverse each hole. That is taking technology too far. Again a couple of extra marshals would be nicer than making carts high tech.
Course layout is great though. But think will only come to spend $90 on a round if a hurricane is coming through in hopes of not having course packed like sardines in a can. And next time I will walk!
Strange Layout
1st time playing the North Course.
Front 9 is a real test. Hazards everywhere and few bail out spots.
Back 9 is like playing a completely different course. It’s wide open. Like someone has put 9 holes in a big field.
Condition was ok. Fringes and greens could have been neater & quicker.
Would play again but wouldn’t pay $120 to play it. The South course is a better layout.
