Great layout to bad they have to paint the fairways such great course . I will be back

If not your A game, bring at least your B+ game. This is a very challenging target golf course. There is not much rough and a lot of slanted fairways, if you don't hit it in the right spot, you could be teeing up another ball. The good news is if you hit it in the right spot you could have a drive of 280 or more. Greens are well protected by bunkers with some false fronts, not many places to miss and chip on. Overall I think for the value (on golf now) everyone should try it at least once.

The course was very challenging, but fun. The only thing we did not like was the fairway was very hard, hard to dig in to hit the ball. You had to literally sweep the ball just to get a good hit.

The course overall is in good shape. Other that the tee boxes which were worn, greens were well managed and fairways were dormant from the winter. We played in gale force winds that only Chino Hills can deliver, so having that extra flat grass for an exceptional roll really helped out. I must say the cart lady was really nice, but it appeared she only came around once. Overall we had a good time even though the wind made a short course brutal to play.

when we checked in, we paid $49 each total $147 with a credit card. Our tee time was 11:30 , 1-11-18. When the staff loaded our bags on the cart, we drove our golf cart to the 1st tee, one guy drove up and ask us for payment receipt, so we answered we paid to the starter. He said he is the starter and we should pay him. When we talked to him he got rude and said he could through any of us out. We played this course so many time and never saw this guy before. we did not do anything wrong. After we showed him the receipt, he just took off. We are the guests, he is a paid employee, he supposed to be courteous and respectful, he acted as he was the owner of the course, which is very bad management, or they really don't care. And he treated us like we tried to play golf without paying, that hurts. I had never encountered something like this before in my memory of playing golf.

This is the second or third time I've tried this course. It was a private course at first and now public.
The fairways were all brown, with the grass dead. You'd think they would know you have to water them in order for them to grow.
The pace was slow, with golfers who would not let you play through.
This will be the last time I play it, even though the club house is beautiful and the lay out of the course is great. Plus you have to show your I.D. at the gate and wait for anyone else in front of you.
No thanks Not for me.

This past weekend was my 4th times here and I cannot believe my eyes since the last time I’ve played this is such a GREAT layed out Course and GREAT green but fairway was bare dried out I hope some rain will come soon or they need to paid some water bill

I played Vellano last year and course condition was not excellent due to long drought season but playable. So I I expected that after raining summer course comes back to it’s original condition and I can enjoy beautiful setting of GC. However, it turn out that ALL FAIRWAYS HAVE NO GRASS BUT PAINTED DRY Packed soil. I have no idea what happened but unless they change something I am not sure that they call last any longer... sad...

Layout is excellent. For below average player it plays very difficult.

Very challenging course which is why the pace is a little slow. Beautiful views throughout. I missed my tee time by a full day and they still got us in. a big thank you to the starter. I shot a 93 and was happy.

At this time it minds me of the links at Sumerly. Looking for sum turf to hit off of. A lot of spray painted dirt.

fairways are hard with a ton of roll. greens are fast and challenging.

Vallano is a very beautiful yet extremely challenging course. The views of mountains in the distance and the sprawling Inland Empire in the foreground can be stunning. The course itself seems to fit itself into the landscape rather than to have been carved out. I had only played the course once before (about a year ago) and was looking forward to another round. What I found was saddening. The course (except the greens) didn't look as though it had been watered since last years rains. The fairways were as hard as rock. You could literally see where your drive or second shot landed from the small dust cloud kicked up by the ball. There were certainly many people willing to put up with those conditions though. The course was so crowded our round took over 5 hours. Well, they can have it...because I won't be back.

Really wish the fairways were as green as the photos. Doesn't seem like owner wants to keep fairways maintained. No cups for water/Ice Dispensers at it was a hot one, No beverage cart either. Must have been purchased by a non golfer. Bar food and staff were wonderful. This is just NOT what was expected by a course surrounded by such beautiful homes.

The grass could be a little better in the fairways but overall the course is a little tough but very nice overall.
