Always great
The Oriole is in great condition. Greens are fast but fair
Pace of play
If you wanna stay behind old men and woman for 6 hours, this is the course for you.
Great conditions, great value
This was my first time playing this course and I will be back. The first pleasant surprise was the driving range with natural turf hitting area. Nearby is a chipping area and a huge practice green. The course was also a pleasure. Fairways were mowed closely with plenty of roll and fully covered with grass. The greens are resort golf quality. Fast and smooth and you do not want to be above the hole. A short iron shot in will hold the green and release about 6 feet at least on the day I played (three days post rain). The tees were less desirable but I find that this feature doesn’t impact play so who cares. The course layout is rather open allowing some forgiveness. There is less water to contend with than most Florida courses so I played with the same ball all day. The only negative is the amount of sand in the traps. They look well covered but only have an inch or so sand in them and the bounce on your sand wedge will bounce off the firmness and skip into your ball so bring a wedge with little bounce by all means. Pace of play on a Friday was 4 1/2 hours. Cart girl came around often. This course is a hidden gem and I will be back often.
Nice
Everything was nice. The carts are newer Club Car Tempo electric . The staff was nice. The tee boxes and fairways are nice. Greens rolled true and were quick. Beverage cart girl nice. Only negative is the practice area is on the far side of the property, and they will not let you use the cart to get there. Will definitely play again.
Much improved
The entire course was in great shape. Much improved since we played last year. I am a female and I was very impressed with the nice woman’s tees. The greens were very well manicured and fast. Fun to putt on after making the adjustment after 3 holes.
