Course Surrounding
This was outstanding we had a great time. Staff was very accommodating. Course was fairly challenging.
Jeff from Santa Clarita
Very good conditions for the Cali. Drought
Challenging but fun at the same time
Staff was great the starter Willy was very helpful since it was our first time playing.
Jeff from Santa Clarita
Considering the drought the coarse is in good condition great challenge and a lot of fun. Bring extra balls and play smart.
Think about not using the driver sometimes unless you can shape the shot with dead aim.
fighting against winds
The course was nice... but it was a too strong windy day that I must play even through a ball moves on green. such a bad day selected..
Moorpark golf course... check weather first
Good course! Tough!
It was really windy so it made the course even harder, but I like the course.
Nice track with consistent greens but burnt fairways...
I enjoyed playing at Moorpark CC and would definitely go back to play again. The drought has affected this course, like many other, but more so in the fairways. They are totally dead. Pretty much no green grass in the fairways. I will say the greens were true, consistent and all in all great shape.
excellent pace of play
excellent pace of play good conditions overall. the greens could be better
Tuff course.....fast greens
Played these courses (they have three nines) several times now via golfnow deals....all three are tight and i'd consider them tuff courses (im a a 13 handicap).....staff and concessions are great...always friendly and upbeat....course currently in good but not great condition......greens were particularly bumpy for what should be a high quality course..cut very fast they had so many ball holes and indentations that putting was frustrating.....they need to be rolled and generally tended to.....other than that i always recomend moorpark.....but not at rack rate
Amazing course.
The views, tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and green were excellent. Everything was above and beyond in quality compared to the rest of LA area courses.
Must play.
I saw another 5some again! What is going on?!
Ridgeline/Canyon Crest.
I can't stand 5somes. I don't care where you are or what kind of course it is, 5somes should be outlawed. The range was being seeded so it was closed. Marshal wouldn't let me chip from grass to the chipping green only from the strip of range mat! Overall the course is in decent shape, the place obviously has money to keep it green and the greens were fairly good, may be a tad too soft as it is always, here. But man, I can't stop shaking my head at all these 5somes I come across. At least this group let us through and were cheerful and polite enough, unlike the other ones I encountered at the other courses recently.
nice mountain gem
played 18 at moorpark and loved it all. we played ridgeline to canyon crest, so will use this review for both.
the course has incredible scenery, and is a fun and challenging layout. you'll want to bring your driver game, as getting off the tee is very important here. there are a good amount of forced carries, and it's not the most wide open course you'll play.
even though we played in the afternoon, the greens were incredibly soft. balls were plugging on approach shots (even into side hill lies!). this made it a little difficult to gauge short game shots, as some greens were drier than others.
the canyon 9 was a little easier than the ridgeline 9, but both were great!

Excellent course and value
Able to take advantage of hot muggy weather and Sunday NFL football to get a fantastic deal on one of the best courses in Ventura County with no crowds. Course was in excellent shape!
Great course - challenging
If you've never played here, pick up the hole by hole playbook at the pro shop.
Good course, can be a challenge.
Course was in good condition. Weather was overcast. Fast greens but a little bumpy. Don't stray from the fairway too far. Distance control is a must. Fun course.
Great Drought Conditions
Such a beautiful course and facility. Definitely a country club that's open to the public. I'd play here al the time if I lived in the area. I especially loved the grass driving range, which was green and not a big dirt field where it's hard to see your ball land.
Lost a few balls, but it was my first time playing and I stayed on the white tees.
Excellent experience
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Greens are fast, 3 putted first two holes until I got used to the speed. Watch out for canyons and valley bunkers. Terrific value at 30, you are playing a country club and the views are fabulous.
Great course
I will highly recommend this golf course .. Excellent service and all the staff are friendly .. Will play again!
Rob C
Great course. Got it on golf now for $49 which is a steal.
Greens are recovering nicely from the aeration last month. Staff is tremendous and the facilities are fantastic. Would play it more often if it was not $80 a round.
Highly recommend!!!
