Great course...27 holes for the price of 18
Amazing course. Fun and challenging. Wish I could see it the spring but winter time was good and greens really fun and challenging.
Great Course
If you’re in the El Paso area, you must check this course out. It’s the same price as some of the other local courses however, this one is a must play. The entire course was in great shape.
Lou
I recently moved tin El Paso and after trying several courses this has become my favorite. Even in the Winter, the course plays well. Stay out of the desert or it may be hard to find your ball, and if you do it will likely be in a tumbleweed plant. If you can hit your drives in the fairway or first cut, you can scores pretty well here. The greens are all multi-tiered and run fairly fast. Angle of approach to the greens in important ,too. The stimp rating is posted outside the clubhouse and seems accurate. Even with recent aerating, they roll true. The pro shop is friendly, and the restaurant/bar serves good food.
North/West Perfect
Painted Dunes North/West course was perfect for December golf. The North course is more modern with wider fairways and large greens. The west course plays as the hardest nine at the facility and was in excellent condition as well. The greens all rolled extremely fast and smooth. The overseeding has began to take so the courses have a green tint in the fairways and on the tee boxes. Go play.
Painted Spectacular
Painted Dunes should be named Spectacular Painting. The course plays right up near the Franklin Mountains, but is so good you’ll forget to look over and admire the view at times. Greens were FAST. The reading on the sign said 12 before the round. I would believe it, they rolled as true to form as any I’ve played. Each green is tiered on both the EAST and WEST course that I played on this Sunday. Overseeing had given the fairways a green tint. All bunkers were sanded very well. Just a delight of a hidden gem. Pair this one with Butterfield Trail for 45 holes of great golf in the city of El Paso. Both are great plays.
Very nice courses
We enjoyed playing the east and west course. They were in great shape. We hope to be able to play again in the future
Great Course!!!
This was a great course and outing! Arguably, the BEST course in EL Paso! It’s not too crowded, too long or short, fairways n greens r n Top condition! Staff was great and very polite!
Course was in really good Condition
Course layout and playability was great. Fairways and greens in really good shape. Only complaint for the course are the carts. The cart died after 9 holes and the replacement cart was in just as bad shape. They said they are in the process of replacing and updating their cart fleet. Pro shop had a decent selection and the restaurant had good prices for food. Overall a good course.
In General
Course is in great shape. Fairways are good and greens are in excellent condition.
Course rangers need to help with the pace of play.
There was a couple of five-somes in front of us and was really slow. Round lasted 5+ hours
This course routinely has been a well maintained, challenging place to play.
I was very impressed with the greens condition. Noticeably firm and very well maintained. Always enjoy playing Painted Dunes.
Very challenging from the tips.
Course plays very well from the tips. Greens are always in great shape. Fairways are well maintained. Enjoy the courteous and friendly staff.
Excellent course
One of the best courses in the Las Cruces / El Paso area Will definitely go back to play the south course.
Avoid the league times
I was looking forward to experiencing some good desert golf while I was in town, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, there were 4 groups who went out in front of me and they were all part of a league. As such, they refused to let me play through and the pro shop staff acted like nothing could be done. The course itself was in ok shape, but not quite what I expected for the money. The greens were nice but the fairways were a mix of burned spots and overwatered swamp. I eventually joined a threesome of locals who were very nice in sharing course knowledge.
will definitely play it again
Very nice course. Enjoyed it. Worth the drive from Las Cruces
