Really nice track!
I wish this course was closer to my home so o could play it more often. Great greens, challenging layout and very attentive & friendly staff!
Great course
Great Course love it here but in 45 days will be crazy slow when snow birds come down
Very good municipal course
Second time playing Sandhills Crane. As good as the first. Great staff, course in good condition and plays good with heavy rain the day before. Very fair on price. Two thumbs up,!
Aerified
This course is generally one of the best around. Slightly more expensive than most, but usually well worth it. However, today we played and the greens had just been aerified, without any notification at the time we made our reservation. They were almost unputtable. The rest of the course was in great shape, as usual, and I’m sure the greens will be soon. I think in the meantime that people should be made aware.
have played here before, always worth it. the people running it do a nice job
Interesting track
Don’t play this course after heavy rains,it needs time to dry out. Had to play cart path only. Not fun
Capt. Jeffrey
Great course, need to enforce pace of play, even though its August and the snowbirds are few pace of play needs to be addressed, played in June and left after 9 holes and 3 1/2 hours for 9 holes, I know they’re growing pains but needs to be overseen by the so called Marshall’s. More like Festus “I’m coming Marshall Dillon” SLOW SLOW PLAY
Good Track...But
First time and was pleasantly surprised at the facilities and course layout!
Range your hitting floaters into the water target greens...not my favorite.
Greens top dressed but a little fast and healing.
Cart paths only...wish I knew that before booking.
Course is low lying so it does hold water and was extremely wet!
Long par fours, but we played it back and was a challenge in wet conditions!
Public family friendly, good for the novice but needs better drainage with the south Florida weather!
Will go back when we're in a drought..lol!
First time playing since it was redone
Course was in great shape and the clubhouse is gorgeous. Didn’t like the way the greens rolled at all.
Relatively short but challenging course
I heard about this course for a long time but haven't taken any action to drive 1.5 hour to play there until I took a day off on 7/12 to play this course and the other nearby great course back to back. I am totally glad for what I did on 7/12. Sandhill is great! It's short but challenging. I played from the back tee. The tee shot is critical. You have to think where and how to fire your tee shot almost on every hole. When looking out from the back tee, a lot of holes intimidate you. The tee shot openings are very narrow. It's a very unforgiving course especially when you play from the back tee. It's fun and I am glad to take that long drive.
Many dogleg holes, ware area carries to challenge driving accuracy.
The course itself was in very good condition except for some sand on several greens. There is some construction renovation going on involving concrete trucks but it was being managed very well and didn’t interfere with play.
There was a young family of four in front of my threesome that slowed our pace of play to some degree and probably should’ve been told to let us play through by the Ranger but since it’s off-season, and I am a family man myself, it was nice to see mom and dad introducing their two children to the game of golf!
conditions
The course shouldn't have been open, very very wet. Cart path only. No notification was listed about how wet the course was. This course doesn't drain well after rain.
Little honesty never hurts
Should have told us they punched the entire course only a few days before...not on Golfnow sign up
Enjoyable round...
Great layout for a shortish course. Conditions were excellent despite all the rain we have been receiving. In my regular rotation.
To Close For Comfort
The course layout is so tight we nearly were hit by errant shots 4-5 times. Also experienced a wait on every tee box resulting in a 4.5 hour round.
Capt Jeff
Need to speed up play, too many snow
Birds that have no or very little golf etiquette
Great shape
Have played this course many times. They continue to cut back the brush and growth making it easier for stray shots to be found and hit. It is not a long course so players who can find their balls should
score very well.
The food in the new clubhouse has been excellent and on a par with some of the private clubs. The addition of toilet facilities should speed up the turn time. The lock on the outer ladies room (holes 15/17) has not worked for months and results in a lot of walk ins and embarrassments of both sexes .Do not open the door without knocking.!,,,,
A good experience, all the improvements have increased prices,. Golfnow helps with softening the blow.
Treat yourself.
Excellent course
We played late afternoon, when we arrived we were met by Bob from Binghamton, extremely friendly and informative. The course layout was excellent, pace of play very good, beverage cart was out and about, greens were superb.
Aesthetically appealing golf course
Sandhill Crane is a golf course that is pleasing to the eye. The layout has good variety and you normally see plenty of birds and a few alligators. The fairways are reasonably wide and the greens receptive, giving the average golfer opportunities to score. The greens do have subtle break, causing some perplexing near-misses. This is one of our favorite Palm Beach County courses.
Good course for an amateur striving to get better
This was my 1st time playing Sandhill Crane GC. Even though the wind was a factor all day, the fairways were tight but manageable plus there was multiple yardage markings on the 8 Par 4's and the 5 Par 5's to help you which I liked (for control purposes, I used my 3 Wood a lot). I also liked the colored flags (Red front, White middle and Blue back) & the GPS on the cart because it really helped me to play controlled, disciplined golf, resulting in my best round this spring. The greens had a nice consistency to them but they were all too fast on the day that I played (I don't know what the stimpmeter was) which was a bit deflating after quality 2nd shots to the green. Although the course was full on the Monday afternoon that I played, my partner and I did not feel rushed.
