The course that was left to die
Did I have fun? Yes because I’ve never seen a course that aged. Do you know it’s a great course when there are kids practicing in the middle of it.
The greens are brown and very dead.
We play 18 holes with cart for $15. Enough said
I have to speak on the greens. They were horrible at best.
I really love to support John A White and The 1st Tee but I can’t get over how bad the greens were. Boxes were ok - fairways were decent
Greens in terrible shape
Really disappointed to see John A White go so far downhill. Used to be a really fun little 9 in town but the greens are so bad I would describe them as unplayable. Pro shop staff member even proactively told us they were in rough shape when we checked in and said that they haven't had a greenskeeper for a few months. I hope it gets better during the off-season, but for now, it isn't worth play here even at a steep discount.
A hot mess.
Under no circumstances should you attempt to book a Saturday morning tee time using this app. There is always a cluster F on Saturday mornings and the staff is always frustrated and borderline rude. The fairways are nice and sand traps are unique. But the greens are always awful.
Nevertheless, during the week it’s a nice inner city respite for practice or a relaxing 9.
Reasonable
The fairways were decent in spite of the amount of rain we had been experiencing. However the majority of greens were in bad shape. There wasn't grass on some of them. We putted on dirt on choppy grass.
Always Confusion and Issues
I have played this course only 3 or 4 times and there seems to always be confusion or some sort of issue with the team working in the pro shop. This time I found a hot deal on GolfNow for 18 holes (9 hole course) at a really low rate but when I turned to go around for second 9 holes the team at the pro shop stopped me and informed me the rate was for only 9 holes and GolfNow always advertise it at 18 incorrectly. At that point I just wasn’t in the mood for a long discussion as the rate I paid wasn’t worth the hassle. It was obvious the real issue was they needed the two carts to accommodate other golfers waiting. With the course in such poor conditions and the consistent confusion from the club house team, I will no longer visit this course again.
JUST SPARE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE
I would rather have dinner with my mother-in-law, than to play this course... and I HATE my mother-in-law
Municipal Value
The tee boxes and fairways are nice. The greens are not. It's a muni, so then, that's a value since it doesn't cost much.
Communication!!!!
Let me tell you I love this little part three course located in Atlanta. However booking through golf now is not the ideal way to go about playing this course on a busy Saturday morning. Golf now and the courses T time service do not match up. Therefore you end up with multiple parties with the same teatime. Guess what tee times takes precedent… Not golf now. I’m not sure how to get these two to communicate properly but the current way is not ideal
J white golf course
Easy to play course with the usual sand traps. Some green's could use some work. Staff very friendly and nice.
Just need love
Good track. Greens are in tough shape but weren’t always this bad. Good practice course for First Tee program.
Nice scenery for a quick 9.
Had a Hole in one on #8.
So I’m a little partial to the course of course!
Inexpensive but could use a marshal to speed pace of play with walkers, hackers look for lost balls, beginners holding the rest of us hostage for just 9 holes.
Otherwise, I’ll be back.⛳️
