Average, lots of oriental rude players
Played 18 holes in 6 hours due to groups in front.. nobody cares!
Fun and challenging course in great condition
I have played the course before, and the course was in much better condition today when I played than when I had previously played The fairways were lush and full The rough was thick and full. The rough had not been recently cut and so it was a challenge to find your ball since your ball would drop down in the rough and be covered over. The greens were soft and receptive because they are bent grass greens. The greens were shaggy and quite slow. It appeared as though the greens had not been cut in a couple days. The same can be said for the tee boxes. They had not been cut in several days and the grass on the tee boxes was very long.
The course was in great condition. The course plays long with lots of forced carries to reach the fairways in order to have your ball in play.
There was deer on a couple holes which made the course even prettier and funner to play.
Fun and challenging course in great condition
I have played the course before, and the course was in much better condition today when I played. The fairways were lush and full, the bunkers were well kept and in great condition, the rough was very thick and full. The greens were soft and receptive because they are bent grass greens. With the softness and receptiveness along goes a lot of non-repaired ball marks from people who do not repair their ball marks. The course needs to put a sign in front of every green which reads "Repair Your Ball Marks" because the players at this course do not seem to think they need to repair their ball marks on the green.
Other than the numerous non-repaired ball marks on the green, the course was in great condition. The course plays long with lots of forced carries to reach the fairways and have your ball in play.
Good November Conditions
The course conditions were less than impressive in early October, but have improved. Mowing of the rough and fairways was much better. The rough is still penal, but not lost ball penal. Some greens had a few bare patches, but generally rolled very well with good pace. The bunkers are playable. Pace of play was only acceptable and not managed by the staff. A very strong three star rating. Highly recommended if you live in the area.
Plays Long - Trending Down
I played Traditions of Braselton twice about 2 months apart. The course remains nice, but not as good as the previous round. The greens are bent, slightly below average for grass density, smoothness, consistency and wear around the cups. Grass mowing seems to be an issue for this grounds crew. The rough is ¾ inches too long for the course difficulty. This especially true for some of the par 3s where you either hold the green or end up in deep rough one yard off of the green. Fairway mowing is too infrequent and needs to be tighter. The fairway mowing issue reduces definition making the course more difficult. Practice facilities seem to be minimal and the practice tee is stocked with flight restricted balls. The staff was minimal but extremely cordial. I am not a member and will not consider a membership because of the practice facilities and location.
Traditions has a nice country club feel!
You aren't going to be blown away once you walk off #18 at Traditions of Braselton, but I personally really enjoy this course. The course is overall quite challenging but is definitely score-able if you put the ball in the right spots. The houses are distant enough from the holes that they really wont affect play. The fairways are wide for the most part, but the rough is pretty deep here so be sure to put a premium on straight tee balls. #18 is my least favorite hole on the course, honestly just hit a 4 iron off the tee and play it safe. The greens were in good condition, very soft and receptive but still putted moderately fast and true. I am not a member but I have considered joining the combo here with Hamilton Mill. Pace of play at both these locations are typically real slow and one of the main reasons I hesitate to join. We had the first tee time of the day so we didn't have an issue!

A tough gem.
A great round on a difficult course. Course in great shape, a top notch facility, and not crowded on a Friday afternoon. Well worth the money, but this one is not for sissies. Miss the fairway and you'll pay for it.
Very Nice Course
The greens were recently aerated, but quite playable. Otherwise the course was in very good condition (Almost 5 stars). The rough is thick. Placement and accuracy off of the tee is critical. There are a couple of semi-blind tee shots. The course is spread-out and not a good choice for a walker. Pace of play on the front side was an issue, but overall a 4 hour round. Highly recommended.
Disappointed
Greens are not good. Can’t believe the Course Pro rated them 4 out of 5. Plus, the sand traps can’t be entered as there are many that have Yellow Jackets nests and they will attack when you get close. Fairways and Tee Boxes are good. However all golfers want good greens. Will not play there again.
A Hidden Gem
This course is amazing! Even with the overflow from the Hamilton Mill changeover, the course and greens are in great shape! Hands down one of my favorite courses!
The info on this website is incorrect. The greens are bentgrass, and are a little slow, but roll true and putts hold their lines.
With five par 3's and 5's, and fescue lined fairways, this course can be tough.
Tee boxes are some of the best I've seen. You can tell that the staff takes pride in their course.
Heard that they have a new superintendent. Hope he can keep up the good work!
TIP: This course does not go back by the clubhouse at the turn and the turnhouse is not always open. While they usually have a beverage cart on the course, it may take some time before you see her again. Bring a water and a snack.
