Worst Staff
I like this course, but when you combine the worst staff for any golf course, I would not recommend this course.
Well kept and great staff!
Great group of people, always as good as possible course conditions.
Great Golf Course!
I love this golf course. The course is always in great shape. Some of, if not THE BEST conditions I've played. The staff is very friendly, and always accommodating. I played on a day where there must have been 160+ players, and our group finished in under 4 hours. For the conditions and pace of play, If your not playing this golf course, your missing out.
PACE OF PLAY!
The course is great, the guys that work there are great, one or two exceptions lol. But it is ALWAYS ALWAYS SLOW! I've called there many times and the person on the phone says yes come on out, it's not bad today. Then when you get there it takes around 5 hours to play.
Don't ask for Ice Water!!
I went to Ruggles Ferry Golf Course yesterday. They don't have water coolers on the course only a water fountain at the bathrooms on each nine holes, so I took my half gallon water jug with me(which is not very big) I asked the young lady @ the Food & Beverage if she would fill it with ice &water. She replied "Ice water is $.50 a cup. I'll have to charge you a dollar for your jug." I said I didn't need a cup. She said it's still a dollar. So I went ahead a paid it. After nine holes I still had plenty of water but needed more ice. When I walked in she looked as if something was bothering her & I asked if there was a problem. She said "They told me I should have charged you $2." So I asked "You want $2 for some ice?" She said "Yes." I told her forget it and would rather die from dehydration than pay $2 for ice. After the round was over I went in to the pro-shop to express my anger & disbelief. The pro said he'd pass that along. I said "what do you mean pass it along, your the one who told her to do it." After $42 for the round & $8 for a bucket of balls. You would think ice and water would be a courtesy, but NNNOOOOOOO!!!!! I not so politely told the pro he would NEVER be back. We would urge you to do the same. We all work hard for our money. Go where you are appreciated. If you know anyone who plays golf please pass this along.
Wow. Sorry you didn't have a good experience. Those guys are great people out there. We've always been treated like we were more than appreciated. They go out of their way to make us feel at home. Go back and play, enjoy the course. Don't let a little ice keep you from enjoying a great course. I have to pay that or more for ice at most places I play. Not uncommon at all.
Wow. Not sure when you played, but I play there all the time and it's never taken me longer than 4 hours. Usually just around 3 to 3.5 hours. Sounds like you need new playing partners! Great course, and they for sure don't have pace issues. NEVER HAVE.
