1936 original layout of the Capital City Country Club. Notice the old clubhouse and how the holes were numbered originally. Photo submitted by JayRevell on 09/12/2018

Tillinhast live in North Florida
Classic courses are always my favorite. I'm just biased. Courses built before golf carts. Courses built for golf, not selling houses. Capital City Counry Club is one of those courese. The course is compact, strategic, and straight forward. Everything you would expect a classic track to be.
Capital City Country Club is an 18 hole layout designed by A.W.Tillinghast in the 1930's as part of a publicly fundied WPA project. The club is right Downtown and the State Capitol is visible from a few holes. The course has amazing hills that shape the holes. Large hills like this are very rare in Florida. To have a Tillinghast layout over such hills is unheard of if Florida. Capital City is a truly unique course.
Earlier this year, Integrity Golf assumed management duties of the club and grounds. Since their taking over, the course condition has reached its best ever. The integirty team has brought the course to its best shape in over a few decades. They are bringing the life back to a classic course that was in need of some help.
Players will find an extremely friendly staff, amenities in the middle of being updated, and a club feel that you cannot get in many places. The course is very playable, but has many challenges in store. Hit it straight and manage to putt some of the tricky greens and you can post a nice score. You will feel like you are playing a classic north east course. Observe the unique qualities of Capital City Country Club and appreciate this great A.W. Tillinghast layout.
The pro shop has some great items for purchase. The Champions grill has great and affordable food. The overall price point for a day at Capital City is very much a deal. Great course, great staff, Great add ons, and a great place to go play some golf.
I highly recomend a day at Capital City Country Club to any player looking for a unique golf course in North Florida. Fans of classic courses and golf history will love this place.
best shape ever
The course was in the best shape ever. Congrats to the Superintendent and the staff. Only negative was off the course when I waited an hour and 20 minutes for a sandwich from the 19th hole.
Excellent
Played on the weekend so the pace of play was a little off, but that’s any course in America.
Course was in great shape and the greens were fairly quick. Pro shop check in was excellent and beverage carts were readily available. Will play again soon and highly recommend for anyone.
Well-maintained beauty
We enjoyed playing this course. Nice hills, fairways, and greens. Sunday afternoon was busy, but still a good experience.
Another good round.
A little slow on the back, along with one rude golfer, but another enjoyable round on and excellent course.
Nostalgia
Always fun playing this course when I’m in Tallahassee. Built in 1908 and has that old school golf club feel. It’s a good deal for the price.
A lot of hills
A minute from tally, is a great option to play with affordable price, good layout and good conditions.
Good day on the links
Course was in very good shape. Greens were probably aerated 2 weeks ago. Aeration holes still evident, but all were completely filled in by sand. Greens rolled true (albeit a little sandy). Should be perfect in another 1-2 weeks. A real bargain at $30 all-in (GF plus GN fee and taxes).
Old style course designed by AW Tillinghast and opened in 1908. Rolling hills and undulating greens.
Bartender in clubhouse was very attentive!
Very hilly course but in great shape with lots of picturesque views.
Great course in the middle of the Capital city.
Great round at a great course. The course is well-maintained with a challenging layout. The price on Golf Now can't be beat for such a gem of a course.
Capital City C.C.
The course was in good condition. It has been awhile since I had played there, but if I can get the rate again I will play it again.
