The Tradition Golf Club

We played the morning after it rained all night. Course was a little soggy in places which was to be expected. They were also mowing and some of the grass clippings clumped together in fairways, but didn't significantly impact play. The course was in pretty good shape, not the best in charlotte but way better than this course was a few years ago. Give it a chance again. Greens in great shape, fairways and rough were mostly good as well. Some areas were a little dicey off the main playing areas, but as long as you hit it straight, you won't have any problems.

Course was not too difficult and well designed. Fairways and greens were in great shape and the pace of play was perfect. Cannot really complain about anything. I will definitely go back.

Not a bad track, but expected more after reading the reviews. They had groups starting on the back 9, which is always cause for concern when making the turn (sure enough we had a group jump in front of us). The greens were slower than most other courses in the area, but were in pretty good shape. There are some good holes where water comes into play, We jumped on the 3:30 "hot deal", and still payed a little more than I would've liked for what the course was worth. All-in-all, we we're satisfied with playing our second 18 of the day here.

Solid course. Good value. Greens are very well kept. A bit slower than I'm used to but seem to be true.

Son and I were looking for a course we have not played before. Good course with a nice layout. Greens in good shape, a few thin spots as they were filling in. Always enjoy a course where primarily each hole is separated and surrounded by tree foliage as opposed to a link style course. A great value for $27

Great course. Love to play it. Only caveat is no handicapped flag and tough terrain.
Had to skip 2 holes due to my physical limitations.

Played 4/1. The greens had been punched recently, that being said the greens were still in less than great shape. Fairways were decent for this early in the year. There are a majority of tee boxes that had very little grass on them. I might play this course again during the summer.

Enjoy the course and the staff is very friendly, unfortunately they had just punched the greens so putting was not the best. Although it gave me a good excuse.

I have played the Tradition since it opened here in Charlotte back in the 90s. It is a fine layout and all the peripherals - pro shop, staff, range, etc. - are fine. But it is a shame to see the course with greens in such dismal shape.
There is less 'broccoli' in the produce department of the local grocery chain than there is on these greens.
One can understand if limited resources are not spent on fairways, mulch and other items. But if you are going to run a golf course, you should make sure the greens are not the worst aspect of the course.
Fix it or forget it!

When I signed up to play, there were plenty of tee times before and after my time according to the app. Never saw ranger to assist with pace of play.. Made the turn and found there was foursome just teeing off, foursome waiting, twosome after them, then or group. We waited for 20+ minutes to tee off again, then waited on every shot the after. Ended up walking off the course after passing 12 holes.

I love this course. I'm a beginner and this course challenges me but boost my confidence at the same time. Lovely environment

Greens were terrible. Bumpy, bald patches, etc. Obviously had issues over a long period of time. Too bad, really like the course

Was told that the greens had been airated but that not so. The greens have a ton of bald spots and makes it almost impossible to putt. They have not been mowed and a putt it like a plinko ball it bounces everywhere. Fairways were in great shape though. This course is not worth the $37 they charge. $20 at most.

The course had an aeration alert, however that was completely misleading. It is easy to tell when the greens get punched and are aerated. This course however, it looked like landscaping took weed killer to the greens, as there were massive areas of dead grass. Good luck putting here, this was by far some of the worst greens I have ever seen!!!

GREENS NEED TO BE FIX DEAD GRASS ON EVERY GREENS. LARGE DIRTS SPOT ON MOST GREENS, YOU COULD NOT GET TRUE PUTTS BAD EVERY HOLE MAYBE TWO GREEN THAT WERE TRYING TO COME BACK.

I've played here before and it was worth the money. This time was different the greens were destroyed. They blamed it on the heat but no other courses in the area were this bad. They have not taken care of it and it looks like they never watered it.

Good course but it will not be in decent condition for at least a few months. Some are so bad they will have to replace the greens.

"So, we've had a lot of problems with our greens this summer" was the first words the starter said to us as we approached the first tee... They had them top-dressed to try to keep them cooler... They are punching them the day after labor day... So yeah, with that said, the course was nice and in pretty decent shape otherwise. They had a good amount of players there, on a Thursday morning. I would/will play this course again, but I will say that I thought it extremely high at $26 for a hot deal and $39 regularly... It should be a $20 course in those conditions. I guess they just don't want play so maybe they can get control of their greens...
