Decent
Nice course...... lots of play! Beautiful views of area! Green Fee $100 plus and they want $15 for range balls even though it says it’s included! Little ridiculous
Delightful round
Great layout, exciting elevation changes. A few very, very challenging holes - target golf - but overall, reasonably forgiving with outstanding views.
Challenging but Gorgeous
Very challenging with 3 9 hole courses. It’s a beautiful course with an awesome view of the city. Great amenities, drink cart driving around. Definitely recommend.
Great Views, Very Nice Conditions, Pricey
This was the first time playing this course. We played Granite and Quincy, each has 9 h. Both courses start high and drop in elevation and then climb back to to the clubhouse. I estimate that the difference in elevation is about 400 ft for each course.
Lots of blind shots and in few cases, a little confusing on which way they hole went even though the cart had a GPS map for each hole. Nothing here too challenging if you can hit it fairly straight. Most holes have a no trouble side. Greens and fairways were in very good to excellent condition; probably in the top 10% for conditions of all the courses that I have played.
Views of the surrounding areas, the city of Boston skyline, the harbor, etc. were outstanding. No other course in the area has such a commanding view. This is one of the draws for this place.
The staff were friendly. The cart girl was around frequently.and they had someone clean your clubs at the end of the round. Thumbs up here. Our cart had a small cooler prefilled with ice. Thumbs up here. Interactive GPS on the cart. Nice selling point.
Now the negatives. while they had plenty of water on the course, no bathroom facilities on the course. Big thumbs down from me. For a course that touts itself as one of the premier courses in the area, and charges a lot, the lack of temporary or permanent restroom facilities is 3rd tier. Most of the courses I have play have at least a Porta-Pot about halfway on the front and back 9.
We decided to get a hot dog at the turn. Thought the price of the hot dog was steep at around $4.75. In my opinion, that is excessive, but they sell, so.........
Normal greens fees with cart in season is $150/pp. With our Golfnow Hot Deal, it was $90. At that price, on the right day, I think that is a fair/good deal. I would not pay any more than that.
Bottom Line: Great views, Friendly staff, Very Good all around conditions, well maintained, challenging, yet not ridiculous difficulty, yet on the pricier side.
Perfection
I have visited Boston 8 times and finally was able to get out. Course is spectacular with views of the skyline. Staff and amenities are all right there when needed. Course was in prime condition, green rolling fast and fairways cut well. Price is steep on weekends but worth the splurge if you can.
Great Deal!
This is a really excellent and really fun course to play! The regular price of $125 is a little steep... but, the deal of the day from Golf Now is a perfect deal! The course is beautiful as are the views of Boston.
Not quite there.... and Quirky....
For all the good here, they don’t help themselves w some silly oversights... first off came directly from the airport, expecting to change into shorts and shoes in the locker room, instead of the parking lot. Keypad on locker room door, sorry, members only. Ok how about a guest restroom w changing area. Nnnno. Stop in the pro shop, sure you can use the modified closet over there, ignore all the trash and merchandise tags on the floor. Poor start feeling like a 2nd class citizen guest. Pace of play was terrible w a 4some ahead, the girl 5 times locked down the cart in the unauthorized area, driving right up,to the greens. Finally we went up and told them, since there was not a single marshal that appeared through the front nine. Bev cart came up on#3. Bought refreshments for my customers...heres my card, can I start a tab please. Nnnno. ‘I have to get the General Managers permission’. Wow, i would expect you do a lot client customer business here, you’re missing opportunity. Ms millennial advised she really doesn’t see the difference. Of course not. Everyone carries tons of cash, how did I miss that?
So despite the course in excellent condition, Some special dramatic views, the latter issues led to a less than favorable experience. Not hard to fix, Management just has to ‘get it’ and desire to take it to the next level. Respectfully,
Beautiful Course
Only downfall is there are lots of blind shots, which can make it challenging to track your ball and know exactly where to hit your tee shots, but course is pristine
Great Course
This course is fun to play. There are a lot of blind shots but the in cart gps is very helpful and handy in showing were to hit the ball. The three mines are always in amazing shape.
Oh look, another male chauvinist snowflake. Aw don't worry hunny I'm sure they'll cater to all of your specific big boy boomer needs next time.
