White Horse Golf Club
About
White Horse Golf Club has one of the toughest courses in the Northwest. Situated on the Kitsap Peninsula, the course is located just five minutes south of the Kingston ferry terminal. The course sits on the Puget Sound between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, offering panoramic views on every hole. When the Suquamish Tribe bought the club in 2010, one of their top priorities was to make the course more playable. They enlisted John Harbottle for the job, a local architect who has designed several layouts throughout the state. By taking out nearly half of the bunkers, he opened up the greens and made them more approachable. He also widened the fairways and made the landing areas more generous. Since the update, White Horse Golf Club has become one of the most popular on the peninsula.

Amazing fun course
Really fun course, they punched about a week ago, so the greens were bumpy, but the course is in amazing shape!
Friendly Staff
Lost club but someone turned in and staff was quick to call me so I could pick it up. Course was in good shape and very little people playing. Was nice to have the course and moving along in less than 4 hours
Beautiful day
Play the skins game with my friend Michael I took the front he took the back I got them on KP’s walked away $12 richer great course
We smokum peace pipe”
A great round on a beautiful chorus I won by one stroke but I lost a dollar A+ to the course A+ to the staff
A good challenge
Really enjoyed my first time playing White Horse. Chose the black tees because I enjoy punishment, but really only felt punished on the Par 3s. Course was dry minus some soggy spots that were mostly out of play area. Greens were faster than typical for spring NW golf, but there was also some damage. Overall I would recommend and look forward to playing again.
Great course
I’ve played this course a lot but not after a lot of rain and I was surprised how well the course held up. It was soggy in some spot but over all had a great time. I did notice that they have upgraded their carts with gps and when you get close to the green with the cart it will show you how the green breaks.
Awesome round of golf
Such a fun course it is challenging but also fair. If you haven’t played I would definitely recommend going there!
Great track. Couldn’t ask for better conditions this time of year. Will definitely be back! 👍
I did better than I thought.
The only drawback is the price of the ferry ride. Pro shop staff was very accommodating , friendly, and efficient. I’’m always satisfied when I play here.
Worst golf experience in years
An unethical course management that did not post sanding of greens. First hole was micro punched and was ok. The rest had the bigger punch holes with much sand.
To make things worse we had to play the same 9 twice. Not done. Then as groups finished their first 9 and went back to the same beginning tee the course did not take ten minute tee time intervals and make them ²0 min to accommodate the replay groups.
I would give a negative number if possible
Great facility
First class outfit all around from check in to finish. Look forward to playing again in 2023
WH
Excellent Course. My only objection is when I am paired up with other golfers staff should assign at 1st tee box. A number of times I am waiting at tee box for others to show up only to find out others left early. I don’t mind playing by myself, but annoying to be waiting 10-15 minutes for group to show. Other than that White Horse is in excellent condition. Tough course.
White Horse just keeps getting better
I make the early September trip to White horse every year to roll the best Public greens in the state and yesterday was no exception. PURE is the best description. They are fast, but fair. Read and roll as intended. The whole course was in PERFECT condition, with the misses being punished and the good shots rewarded. Rough was gnarly if you really miss in a bad spot (hello left half of 10 - next time just cut a 4 iron off that tee) but playable if the ball bounds just into it. Only had 2 bunker shots, but those were consistent and well maintained. 4 sets of tees allowed me to play the BLUES while my playing partners had a LOT more fun from the WHITES. Service was outstanding; We ordered lunch to go and told the bar tender we had a Ferry to catch. He looked at the clock then even searched the FERRY waiting list to assure we had time and would make our intended boat. This has to be played by every Washington GOLFER to appreciate how well the course has grown up. When first opened, it was so firm and tricked out - just balls bounding into bushes. The last 10 years though, the vision and approach to the course and grounds keeping has turned this into a TOP 5 public course in the state of WA. It is tough - the shorter the hole, the smaller the landing areas. All the par threes are pretty and I hit every single club in my bag -- on the front nine alone! ( holes, 9 different irons (or 3 wood on 9 from 210 out - what a hole!) I have played them all and put Whitehorse right along side Gold Mountain Olympic, Salish Cliffs, Wine Valley and Chambers. In some ways, it exceeds those because the Ferry ride builds anticipation and sets up a scenic start and end to the whole round make you feel like you've got nothing but a GOLF COURSE to explore - but then you are right back in town after a 25 minute ferry crossing. Count me in every FALL for my ride on the White HORSE.
