About
Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Curling Club is centrally located within 15 minutes of the Edmonton Area, St. Albert, Morinville, and Cardiff. It first opened as a nine-hole course in the 1950s. Since the second nine wasn't added until 1996, there is a distinct difference between the front and back nine that makes it feel like you're getting two golf courses in one. The front, the original nine, is a more traditional parkland layout while the back is a more open links nine. You'll face a different set of challenges on each. The smaller greens on the front are indicative of the time when it was built and the size will also test your shot placement skills. In contrast, Edmonton Garrison Memorial's back nine has large and undulating greens as well as more strategically placed mounding.

Little overrated on the app. Still a nice experience overall interesting zig zag shaped holes

Pace of play
Pace of pay was terrible. Spent 4 hours to only get to finish 16 holes. They let people book tee times with others but then let them go out 20 min before their time, so theres two groups of two when theyre suppose to be a group of 4 , making the pace of play super slow

Great course
Excellent course the only negative point is there is no course amenities.

Great course
This is a nice course in the north end of Edmonton. Very friendly staff and a nice course layout. Good for the beginner to average player. Very unique to have artillery and tanks on a course. Very cool!

A little disappointing
The front nine tee boxes and greens were not watered recently at all; they were dry and concrete-ish; couldn’t get the tee in the ground, and if you landed your ball in front of the green it would roll on and through the back.
The foursome in front of us played so slowly that our round took over five hours. There was no marshall to tell them to keep pace.
We stayed after for a steak sandwich - I ordered the steak rare and it was overcooked. My friend ordered theirs medium and it was also overcooked. The staff were mostly friendly, but the woman in the clubhouse was abrupt over a couple incidents that we encountered while getting cart keys.

No marshalling of Pace of play & punched greens
Love this course usually busy but steady… but 2 groups ahead looking for balls, driving carts all over course horsing around and no Marshall to help speed them up ended game 27 min behind pace of play… nice that GPS continued to remind us on top of our already growing frustration. Course is good for the conditions but greens were punched, we were surprised no discount given considering this. Nonetheless we will return as it’s one of our favourites and hope for a better round next time.

Good Course but very slow
We had to wait at every tee about 10mins before we could tee off because the pace of play a head of us was so slow. We were happy we walked because then were were not waiting even longer at the next tee box. We ended up not playing the 18th hole because it was getting so late.
The course is in great shape and the staff was super friendly. We only say the drink cart once and she only had water and 7-up to drink.
We will go back but we will make sure we book an earlier time so we can allow for the 5+hours it will take to play the course.
